St Vincent’s Public Hospital

I am always impressed by this hospital. It is highly efficient, very clean and ordered. The modern look as you walk in the door makes you feel like you have walked into a lobby of a nice hotel.
There are people to greet you if you are lost and a wheelchair to assist you if you have trouble in walking. Oh .lots of young eligible doctors and nurses too! ha
Seriously this hospital is the fore runner in medical research. I have been part of a study in the past three years where the results have helped thousands of young males in the prevention of cancer.
I have also visited friends who speak highly of the medical staff and the compassion that is truly felt for seriously ill people.

A great hospital with dedicated staff and good patient service. I mainly deal with the Outpatients Pharmacy but on occasions have needed to attend Emergency. The wait time can vary depending on time of day. Just like on TV, don’t turn up on a Saturday night unless its urgent. The main hospital has a florist and café for your convenience.

I’m not a huge fan of hospitals and was therefore a little nervous when visiting St Vincent’s hospital. I had an appointment with one of the doctors and was very impressed to see that the facilities and buildings had been newly renovated and were very modern. I had heard horror stories from A Current Affair and Today Tonight about public hospitals but was pleasantly surprised. There was plenty of signage to direct me to where I wanted to go and with plenty of staff on call, I felt that I was able to ask for directions. Everyone was very welcoming and kind, from the receptionists to the doctors. Plenty of cafes were also nearby which was a plus considering that waiting can take anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours. When having lunch at a nearby café, I noticed that a new building was being designed– a cancer ward with all the latest technology and treatments. Overall, the experience was made better by the staff and the welcoming atmosphere.
