Let me set the scene for you, imagine you’re an Italian thug… or an undercover, pretending to be a thug working for the Corleones or the Sopranos… Now where would you meet your mafia-​associates? How does a nondescript, small, dingy Italian restaurant with the tv constantly playing at the back, where everyone greets everyone with a nod and a tilt of the head sound?
No name is a great little no frills, hidden away Italian restaurant to get your Godfather and Sopranos on. This place is very niche, hence the extended intro above and does great simple, cheap Italian (no spaghetti al ragu bolognese here, just good ol spag bol topped with Parmesan and butter). The menu is small, schnitzels, couple of pastas, salad (1) and a few other offerings. The bread, slices of lettuce and the red cordial is free! Not recommended for vegans, artisanal food fans or self proclaimed foodies. However, despite its simplicity and no-​frillness, their food are delicious and the place has a certain charm that keeps luring you back.

First thing that comes to my mind about this place: Weird, very, very weird.
I have seen places like this, many of them — but in Manila or an Indonesien island or Ho Chi Minh (where the owners come from as they said)…but not in a developed country, in one of the nicest suburbs of town…
However, this makes it special and somewhat cool.

Food was really nice, nothing spectacularly impressive, but good, Italian.
The Spaghetti Bolognese (10 $!!!) for a very large portion, I finished half, was plain good. Nothing to freak out about, but good as it should be.
The salad was a big surprise (4 $!!!) — the taste of the cucumbers and tomatoes reminded me on my grandmas garden, they did not taste watery, but like cucumbers and tomatoes, I would not be surprised if they grow them in a private garden…
If you want cheap and good food for the start of a night out: recommended
If you want to impress a first date with a weird place totally out of the norm: recommended
If you want to have a romantic dinner: Run far away!

Really basic but the best pasta this place has not changed in 30 years
There is a secret back entrance the old arch café entry has closed.
If your looking for good spaghetti with bread and cordial this is the place.
