Coogee Bite Cafe

I found the Coogee Bite Café to be a simple (and I mean that in a nice way) café close enough to Coogee Beach without the pretensions of eating somewhere where the view is the best, and most expensive part, of the experience.
I enjoyed a nicely prepared and presented chicken burger for lunch. Anyone else would probably think that the accompanying crunchy fries were perfect but I’m more a thick chip person. My only criticism, and it’s picky, was that my banana smoothie was too milky for my liking.
The service was courteous and appropriately attentive — I couldn’t fault it.
Overall the Coogee Bite Café served me a pleasant lunch on a unexpectedly warm winter’s day.

Pretty good lunch here. Not cheap but that is not surprising considering the location. The trip to the loo was interesting. There was a sign to say that the light automatically turns off after 3 mins. Panic nearly set in when I shut the door and was left in complete darkness. As the light switch was on the other side of the door I also realised that I had never timed my number 1s or 2s so I could end up on the dark at an in opportune moment.
As for the food, both meals were good. I seemed to have missed my promised avocado but if I hadn’t read it on the menu I wouldn’t have really missed it. Service was OK. We missed out on the second cup of coffee as the place got very busy around 2:30pm and there was only one person serving.
It was a place where you could help yourself to water too.

good but not great. location is the best part about the place. interesting menu but not exactly the best value. would come again if convenient but prefer other places for casual breakfast/​lunch

Coogee Bite café is our absolute favourite café! Whenever we are overseas and start to get homesick, we sometimes pine for Coogee Bite before family (does this make us terrible people?).
Right next to Coogee Beach, this café is always packed with regulars and their children, dogs, friends.
Our favourite meals served here is the breakfast bruschetta, closely followed by the breakfast bagel and then kenny’s benny (eggs benedict). Top two beverages are the pacific frappé (raspberry, mango, guava — the perfect combo!) and the banana smoothie (seriously guys this is absolutely delicious — the best smoothie in the world served in one of those cold, tall metal cups).
We love introducing people to Coogee Bite, many friends have fallen in love with this place. The apartment above it was for sale recently and we seriously toyed with the idea of getting mortgaged up to the hilt just so we could live above the bite!
Make it your local café of choice — you won’t regret it!
