WOW! just WOW! Had an amazing time at Juniper and Bay! I didn’t realise where it was and hadn’t heard much about the restaurant before. I booked it mainly because of the 50% dimmi special. I will definitely be back here again as prices and the degustation was really reasonable. Great choices on the menu and beautifully presented when they came out. Service was great and staff were really friendly. Atmosphere is great for dates. Plenty of parking along the street as well.

Just insanely tasty! Had the degustation at $ 70pp plus wine — a STEAL! Amazing service, very attentive, great ambiance — nice décor. Only thing I would change, draw the blinds over the motel(where the restaurant is located). Otherwise just SO brilliant!

We went to Juniper and Bay for my Dads 60th Birthday for a fine dining experience… I can pretty safely say this is one of the best restaurants, in terms of food and service — that I’ve been to in Perth I can not fault the food-we received our dishes and drinks promptly. Before our Entrees came out we were handed complimentary pea soup to try and it was delicious! Nothing like the normal Boring old Pea soup in terms of flavour. The chef also came out to chat with us and that was so nice, you could really tell his excitement as he described how he made the soup. He has great passion All our dishes both meat and vegetarian — Could not be faulted in terms of presentation, taste and quality. The service from the wait staff was prompt and fantastic and our drinks(dry martinis) were great. I couldn’t really fault Juniper And Bay. Some people may be put off by the location and building… But inside is a true hidden gem The chef has got some serious skills in the kitchen and obviously takes pride in his work and has a great passion. The owner should be so proud of what he has created.

Juniper & Bay has dark furniture, candles and low lighting. A perfect spot to leisurely enjoy wine and fine food. This establishment seems to rely on loyal customers and mature diners, rather than fickle hipsters and trendy milkshakes. It has a classy old-school feel — but be warned, it also has the price tags to match. The complimentary amuse-bouche was a light tomato consommé, tasty but a little salty. My triangle of goat cheese brûlée($ 13) was rich and creamy, with a very delicate layer of caramelised sugar along the outside edge. The sweet preserved cumquats paired well with the salty cheese and tangy apple slivers. The duck liver pâté($ 14) was super smooth and very tasty, with beetroot coulis, pickly cornichons(those are little gherkins) and various sauce blobs. You can also schmear some on bread from the complimentary bread baskets. The beef fillet steak($ 40) is not the most exciting dish on the menu, but it was a solid feed. The juicy meat was perfectly cooked to medium-rare, with a tasty red wine jus and yummy vegies on the side. The kalamata olive crust was too bready for my liking. The signature dish is the roast duck($ 42), served with fluffy potato dumplings and a pickly red cabbage. I prefer Asian-style duck dishes with strong sauces, but this was a nicely cooked European-style duck with a simple but tasty port and prune jus. My ginger and chocolate ice cream parfait($ 14) was gorgeous and the plate had lots of fun bits, including spun sugar, tangy rhubarb and a slice of dragonfruit. The ginger in the ice cream was fragrant, but I would have enjoyed a stronger hit! I traded half my dessert to tuck into the brilliant tonka bean ice cream sundae($ 13). This is a guilty pleasure dessert for adults — blackcurrant liqueur poured over a medley of ice cream, macadamias and fresh berries! The curious ice cream tasted like like a mix of vanilla, honey and caramel. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. The chef brought out desserts and had a chat, which was really lovely. Our meal came to roughly $ 70pp for 3 courses(not including wine), so it plants the restaurant firmly in my «special occasion» category. Juniper & Bay is a quiet, suburban gem with food that is prepared with care and attention.
