Isn’t it great that we can be in the outer suburbs of Melbourne and get to experience a cuisine that you may have never even thought existed. Pondok Bamboe Koening, literally Yellow Bamboo Cottage, is a Chinese Indonesian noodle restaurant and I am happy to say the noodles are amazing. They are simple flavours that are just delicious. They have all different types of noodles and all noodles are made on site. Unlike Muslim Indonesian restaurants, most of the menu contains pork with a bit of chicken and mushrooms thrown in for good measure. Choose a type of noodle and then choose a topping. Toppings include pork or chicken mince, BBQ pork, spicy chicken and combinations. All are great. Do not leave without eating the triple cooked pork belly, it is Sooo tasty. The BBQ pork might not be bright red(the owner did not want to use the fake colouring), but it is still one of the best examples of cha siu I have eaten. This place is awesome and the owner is really nice. Go now.

Fresh noodle, great choice of chicken, beef and mushroom. Service was quick. Friendly atmosphere. Has the fried wonton. Parking is free at the back of the street. We had the combination noodle.
