Toyworld

Toyworld was around when I was a child and its great to see it still exists among the bigger places like Toysarus and target.
The Claremont store has a fun range of lego, pool and beach toys and crayons and paints. Oh and dinosaurs too! What I like about Toyworld is that they stock toys with substance, toys that will last and offer some sort of education to kids.
There is a large range of inflatables. The cheapest pool/​beach donut is only $ 4.99, a ride on neo is under $ 20.00. Outdoor toys deserves a mention too — soft balls for the little ones, softball sets, tennis sets for under 5 years old, cricket sets etc.
They also stock the Nippas brand, an Australian brand for the beach.
I always find it hard buying for my niece who is under 3, not quite old enough for a lot of toys out there. Toyworld is ideal for shopping for children under five.
I left with a nippas swim ring, jumbo crayons and a big artist bad for under $ 35.00.

Once upon a time, toy stores were everywhere. I loved visiting them, because I loved the idea of being surrounded by Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Over the years, stand-​alone toy stores have vanished from the retail landscape… except for places like Claremont, where Toyworld clings to life. It was quite a surprise to see Toyworld in Claremont, amongst Yuppieville.
There is a nice range of toys in the store, from dolls to construction sets and more. The prices seem fair and there are many more toys available than in large department stores. The staff seemed disinterested and unhappy, which was jarring considering they were surrounded by toys — aka items meant to bring joy. Aside from the sour staff, Toyworld is a fun place for both young and old.

Sometimes chain stores can surprise you. Especially in the middle of Claremont. When I was wee, if I ever wanted anything from Toyworld, I would look to see if any other store had it first as they were always the most expensive option. These days, they’re much more competitive. While you’ll probably find the large discount department stores like Target, Big W & K-​Mart will generally price slightly below what you’ll find here, there’s something to be said for shopping in a dedicated toy store. As soon as you walk in the door, you’re confronted by a million options for fun; if you’re looking for a gift for a young-​type-​person, you’ll be able to find something within the shelves of the toystore. This is the most fun shop you will find in Claremont.
