First time visit and loved it! Place wasn’t too packed when arrived which was around 7.15am! I love how they open at 6am so if you need to be somewhere early you can always stop by to grab a good morning starter. T Hey have indoor and outdoor seating but is a little on the small side. I ordered the mushrooms on toast with pine nuts, rosemary with 2 poached eggs! $ 14 — Everything on this plate was delicious but so filling too. They have a sweets section in a glass display and i spotted some cronuts. Overall, i though the menu was reasonably priced, staff friendly and good coffee. There is minimal parking on the street so best to park in Westfield. Also they only accept cash so bring your dosh!

Food was really yummy and prices were reasonable. Food alone is 4.5 stars but the décor is what dropped the rating. The café is small(less than 10 tables) and is just outside Westfield so there are lots of people passing by.

The food in this place was fantastic, I had breakfast there this morning. I order the egg, salmon with Brioche. The bread was the best I had eaten in ages, fresh and soft. The eggs were cooked to perfection, absolutely nothing I could fault. The service was very freindly and if I had more time I would definately have tried the coffee, which looked awesome. I’ve never had a decent breakfast in Chatswood and I’m please to say that this place has changed everything in that regard. I’m looking forward to going back there to try some more of their dishes.

If you are looking for the best café in Chatswood that demonstrates the massive benefits of providing a continuously changing menu of guest roasts, then you have found it here. On a side street behind Westfield, you wouldn’t really expect that much from Elbow Room Espresso, but you’d be mistaken. As a coffee snob, I love coming here as I literally never know what I am going to get. For many cafes you’d likely(rightly so) see this lack of consistency as a negative. In this case, while I am not sure that the coffee I am drinking will be fantastic(though it is more than not), it will be interesting. Not only that, but the ultra random American and Korean coffees that occasionally popup here make it a café that is certainly worth checking out.

Chatswood used to be so challenged when it came to good coffee. Am very pleased to see the competition picking up in the caffeine department, which therefore brings business such as Elbow Room to our doorstep. I’ve only tried their food once, which was fantastic, but I’m a regular now for their coffee. Five senses(coffee) and always perfectly(and consistently) made.

Thank you Chatswood for finally bringing it in the café department. I came here after a friend posted a picture of the food on Instagram(making this the most hipster café find I have ever made) — I had never heard of this place and thanks to the old Unilocal bookmark I had it parked for my next café emergency when I was in the area. I think that this place does all the things necessary to be a good café– funky interior, great tasting and interesting food, and not just good coffee– but a rotating bean menu. I had the fresh fig and ricotta on toast which was simply delightful. The combo of figs, ricotta, honey, walnuts and mint was a definite winner. And all the rest of the food I saw looked just as tasty. Brilliant coffee too– I just had the house bean(can’t remember what it was) but it was great. Well done elbow room– you just found a special place in my heart

There are a lot of places in Chatswood selling coffee. But by far this is one of the best ones. Serving different beans for different roasters this is a coffee lover dream. To add the cherry on the coffee heaven, the food here is fantastic. Now the menus is limited but both my friend and I were ecstatic about our meals. I got the French toast and it was divine. It is a small kitchen, so if it crowded you might have to wait a bit. But that should be expected with any small café. What completely won it for me was the friendliness of the staff. A small error was made in my order(which was my fault) and they lady could not be more helpful. I will definitely come here again.

Good coffee but waiting more than 45 minutes for scrambled eggs when the café is only half full is not really acceptable. My partner’s food was finished by the time my food arrived! Seems like the kitchen also wasn’t coping with the orders from a table of 6 — the orders emerged over a 10 minute period. In short, come here for coffee but don’t count on a quick visit for food.
