Such a great addition to the neighbourhood — I can’t remember what we did before ‘Brightside! Great food — amazing coffee and a lovely (and funny) team. Try the Brightside veggie juice as well.

Great café, very busy all the time. The coffee is great and the take away service is fast. The food is delicious and the kids love the fresh made cookies and cakes. A fabulous place to catch up with friends, chat and drink coffee. The set up is clean and modern. Love it!

Fabulous, cheery and bustling café I discovered on a local flanerie this morning.
Visualise minimalistic wooden interior with dashes of yellow and turquoise trimmings overlooking local park. Bustling staff that are attentive and helpful. A breakfast and lunch menu that has your old favourites — like poached eggs on toast — but also some middle-​eastern inspired twists with dukkah. Good, strong coffee. Yep, I was in utopia.
I ordered strong skinny flat white and the quinoa, sweet potato and kale fritters with two poached eggs, smoked salmon and tzatziki. My only complaint is the serve should have been double the size because it was delicious.
Highly recommend if you’re in the hood. It was a three kilometre walk for me, and it was well worth it.

Hard to go wrong here & that’s why it’s so popular. Harder to get a seat on weekends before 11.30 but managers always on hand to keep things running smoothly. I love that sort of service: aware of you & acknowledged.
I can almost forgo bad food for that but Brightside does not disappoint food wise either. My fave breakfast of eggs Benedict with smoked salmon is so good. The brekkie slider with scrambled egg, bacon & relish is great too.
Coffees are superb esp if made by the gorgeous tattooed barista who from memory used to work at Café Uffizi.
A superbly run café & worth all its stars as they really know how to run things perfectly!

I’ll start by saying we have several cafes within walking distance from our home and Mr Hu Brightside is the only one we’ll frequent! The staff is effervescent, friendly, always recommending good things on the menu. The location is lovely with wide open seating bringing the inside out, perfect for a sunny Saturday morning. The food is consistently good. That’s what you want to recommend to people that no matter how many times I’ve been there, or what I’ve ordered, the food is consistently so tasty. And since I’m Gluten Free, their Big Breakfast is perfectly filling and keeping me on track.

Really loved this little café. As an inner city dweller I was very happy to find this little café when we were housesitting for the inlaws. The food is really good, I am a bit fan of the breakfast extras part of the menu and this one has a vast extras section.
Service is super quick, cheerful and nice.

Charming place, but really long wait for coffee. The pastries were good, and necessary to appease the kids while I waited for my coffee. I prefer a slightly stronger flat white, but it was still smooth. And I did go back twice because it was the closest option while staying nearby.

Great coffee, using Supreme which never fails to disappoint.
A broad menu, with sliders, porridge as well as middle eastern inspired dishes.

Perfect place for breakfast, their coffee is really good! Friendly service, great atmosphere and decoration, you can find small or large tables inside. This place can be very busy on sunny days but it’s a chance to have a place like this in Caulfield south!

Coffee was slightly on the weaker side. A full extraction is almost standard these days in a place serious about their coffee. Avocado smash was okay. Was expecting maybe some bacon or mushrooms with it at that price.

This is an unexpected gem in Caulfield! Best coffee in the area by far, great atmosphere and really friendly staff (how refreshing!!) Sit at a private little table or up on the communal bench. Great for doing some work, catching up with friends, or just for a quick take away. There’s WiFi, plenty of parking and a park over the road — everything you need!
