I really like Nostralis, especially their vindaloo pizza. Having switched over to a vegan diet recently, I’ve been to Nostralis a few times now and it’s always a good experience. Aside from vindaloo, their Eggplant and Artichoke pizzas are good as well. I like the ambience of the store, it’s quite casual and the service is always super friendly. That also adds to the experience. I find their prices reasonable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for tasty vegan pizza.

Got take away from here when staying in Melbourne. May have eaten there 15 years ago when we lived there. Couldn’t remember it being bad and thought it may actually serve relatively healthy homemade style pizza. OK so I am pretty good at doing homemade vegan pizza at home but being on holiday and staying in a place with limited kitchen equipment(ie no trays even!!) and being very busy… we succumbed to takeaway. We studied the menu online and decided on 2GF vegan pizzas one was the vindaloo and the other the asparagus(with mushrooms not bean shoots). We ended up not getting GF as the vegan bit was already $ 2.50 per pizza and the GF would have been another $ 2.50 per pizza and for a smaller pizza at that. $ 10 extra was steep(not stated that these costs were incurred on the internet menu). So hubby went to pick up the pizza(they don’t deliver) and fortunately had cash(they don’t take cards) and brought it back to our holiday house only to discover they had put bean shoots on the asparagus pizza(not a great pizza topping IMHO esp when eating left overs) and the pizzas were thick crusted(we had specifically ordered very thin as not GF and we don’t tolerate the wheat so well!) and super oily. The taste of the tandoori one was not bad but the asparagus one was very uninspiring and the asparagus was soggy and awful. Both were pretty soggy crusted. Considering the cost per pizza we were pretty underwhelmed and disappointed… almost would have done better with dominos! Not a patch on homemade pizza at all. Not sure why they are still there or how they(apparently) have such a following /good reviews. Possibly related to the area… very conservative tastes there!
