Gaofeng Chinese Restaurant

This is one of the worst Chinese restaurants I’ve ever been to. The only reason I’m not giving them one star is because the near-​raw steamed dim sims did not find me hugging a toilet bowl as I’d anticipated. Just to give you an idea of how utterly mediocre this place was, the boyfriend and I ate here very recently and neither of us remembers what we ate apart from the huge pink dim sims. We were the only diners there that evening, except for one person who came for her take-​out order. How are they even still in business?
Not to lump all ethnic food together, but if you absolutely have to eat in this area, I highly recommend Kantipur, which is a Nepalese restaurant across the street, or a Lebanese place around the corner called Almazett. Both are open late and offer a far superior dining experience, both in terms of food and atmosphere. Just a little further, there’s also an uncharacteristically upscale-​looking Chinese place called The Potsticker that I’ve heard great things about but am yet to try. Seriously, anywhere but Gaofeng.
