Very pricey for the limited food menu in the bistro. The bar food is varied and worth a try. Has a good atmosphere and a great view of a lake. The service is normally good with attentive waiters and a friendly host.

There is an old saying, ‘it is what it is’ and that applies to this hotel. Upon check in, a $ 250 bond was deducted from my visa debit card as a security bond(the room itself was only $ 170 for then night), rather than just taking an imprint and a charge of $ 1 showing up(which is what other hotels in this chain, including one I stayed in last week) do. Being a week out from payday and traveling on limited funds, this became a major issue for me. Apart from that, the room was nice, very large and spacious, king bed was very comfy at the end of a long day. Lots of light, and views of the ‘lake’ were nice too. Breakfast was a interesting affair. Your usual affair of a buffet was replaced by ordering your meal from the café menu. Nt bad, ensures your food was fresh, but on the downside, I asked for a juice mid way through my meal and was told since I didn’t order it with my food, I’d be charged for it, where in most hotels you get unlimited coffee, tea and juice with your meal. There’s not much in the area to do, and I would assume people need a geographic reason to stay here and not actually in Melbourne(I went to a wedding in the area).

The furniture is just about the only good thing here. Service and food is amongst the worst I’ve ever had.
