I actually work here as a volunteer, and I can tell you that it is such a great place and all. I work as a lunch volunteer here and well I have to say, the food are pretty nice and simple, but they are very natural and probably very good for your health.(Especially for people like me who eat a lot of food that might be considered not healthy) As a customer, well, the price of the bulk products, since they are organic, could be pretty high. But I guess the organic products/items are pricey-er since they might need more maintanence after all. The lunch that are provided are quite cheap and the quantity is fairly decent and could really fill you up. I ate lunch there after volunteering and helping in the kitchen, and it got me very full, so I can say it is very good and that case. Conclusion: It is a great place with great decorations and atmosphere and some bulk products could be cheap, but some could be expensive depending on the source, if it is in season and the item itself. The paper bags that holds the items also need to be paid so it is better if you bring your own recycled paper bags or containers I guess. Overall, the idea behind the shop, and the thought of promoting people to be environmentally friendly is all super great. Opinions on Price: Same as above.

The Accoustic Soup on Wednesday nights is very good value for money. Great food and plenty of it, great music. The night I went, it was minestrone soup with bread and a chickpea salad. The soups change weekly, though. Student discount makes the meal almost as cheap as instant noodles. Of course, it’s very popular and the place is packed, so everyone has to line up(!!) to wash their own dishes. But I end up meeting lots of people from university and it ends up being a social experience. I really need to go more often!

Someone please post the hours. Five stars just for the vibe and great location. Wish I’d been more involved while I lived here. Parking’s tricky… any secret spots nearby for those not on bikes?

They have vegan pies, fair trade coffee with which soy doesn’t cost extra, cool cushioned crates & wooden tables. It’s located on ANU campus but is independently run by a bunch of volunteers. Locally cooperative & globally fair trade = win.
