Cuppa Cha is a fantastic place to learn and discover tea. The owners have done a study tour in Taiwan just on oolong, so you know they are serious about good tea. They have an extensive list of tea on the menu but the menu has a recommendation pages if it’s all a bit daunting. They also offer a café menu and coffee but I highly recommend that everyone try a tea they haven’t heard of before. It’s an amazing world to discover.

Tea is to me and my partner what coffee is to many others. Our kitchen looks like a T2 franchise at times. We were delighted then to find Cuppa Cha on Burke Rd, a place that takes tea seriously, run by lovely people and staff that are more than happy to chat all things tea with you while you sip some delicious concoction. There’s an extensive menu with some crazy inclusions for hardcore tea enthusiasts(with prices to match) but there’s also a simplified menu with their popular options for those daunted by the longer list. We meant to get takeaways, but they were insistent that I drink one cup of my Oolong selection while a secondary brew was made to go. My partner fell in love with the Hathi Masala Chai, and asked if it was possible to buy a mix from them. The owner went straight out the back to make the mix up on the spot for us, and spent time explaining the perfect way to brew it together at home, offering to give us a demo on their stove. They also do food, high teas, and had a French themed day when we were there, champagne flutes mixing with tea cups on the tables. Highly recommended for tea lovers.

At last I have somewhere to go for a perfectly prepared and presented cup of tea. The food pairing recommendations bring out the best in the teas offered.
