Took a client from work to Tre espresso and they described it as little Italy. On arrival the manager greeted us and sat us down near the musician singing Italian music. There was minimal wait time to be served. The lasagna was fantastic and the chai tea went down phenomenally. This little tucked away café is an absolute gem for a Sunday lunch if you are looking at getting away from the loud and busy Sydney rd.

We stumbled on this courtyard café near the market. It was the sunshine, dappled light through the trees and ESPECIALLY the wonderful French Gypsy Jazz music played live by La Mauvaise Reputation that drew us into an Amelie type mindset. The menu is simple but seemed to be reasonably executed food, many specials on the blackboard — some odd combos listed. Basically brekkie, salad and pizza — so when in doubt we opt for the basic. Rocket salad with some parmesan and balsamic vinegar took us back to the 90’s. A chewy crust mushroom pizza had a good selection of fungi. But in all honesty we were dining on the atmosphere on a warm sunny day. When the band packed up promptly at 3:30pm the spell was broken, the pleasant atmosphere valiantly upheld by waiter«Maurizio» whose cheeky sparkle made me think of Agador Spartacus of The Birdcage. The French music is on Saturday afternoons and Sunday features Italian. If you’re getting your bride on nearby in the many shops servicing weddings in the area, it could prove to be a pleasant bit of respite for a coffee and cake or a light meal.

Came here after a hot afternoon spent doing god knows what along Sydney Road for too many hours. I was knackered and a bit sweaty and needed to sit down and cool off. I did so, at one of the outside tables, and ordered a refreshing glass of sparkling wine. I started to feel really good again. Then a girl at a table nearby stood up, took a violin out of her violin case and started playing. I thought she was just another punter, but she was having a pre-gig drink and so it was a very pleasant surprise when she started to play. She was good too, and the booze kept doing it’s thing, and I felt ready to face the world again.
