Tony at Brisbane Chiropractic Centre is my regular chiropractor. Tony’s incredibly good at what he does — he knows which parts of your back or neck need adjustments almost instinctively and appointments are never uncomfortable or painful. It’s a skill set that runs in his family; his father and grandfather established the business, and Tony had a natural knack for it despite wanting to become a marine biologist. That’s one of the few fun facts you’ll learn about Tony as you become a regular patient of his. He’s a very friendly and funny guy and you’ll be sharing stories in no time. If you’re booked in for a chiropractic adjustment the appointment will go down like this.(Important to know because I’ve been to chiropractors before where I haven’t needed to dress down.) 1. One of the girls at the desk will lead you into an adjustment room. You’ll need to strip down to your underwear here. 2. You’ll be massaged by one of the girls to loosen up your muscles so you adjust easier. 3. A heat lamp will be placed above your problem areas to soften the muscle further. 4. Let the adjustments begin! Tony’s method of adjustment is very physical, so don’t be alarmed if at some stage he is pushing his weight against you to align a specific part of your spine, or tugging on your legs to balance out your pelvis.(This is less suss than it sounds.) Follow the adjustment up with a swim and you’ll feel revitalised for weeks to come.
