This bakery, with branches in Berrima, Bowral and Mittagong, has been consistently excellent for the eight years I’ve been here. The vanilla slice is legendary, the fruit tarts are much too More-ish and even the baguettes are fresh and inviting. Their slew of awards speak for themselves; and even the company ethic, with focus on training and community participation, is commendable.

This small patisserie barely has enough room for all the awards /trophies they keep winning! Some of the highest quality, and best tasting pastries I’ve ever had! The pies are amazing — and there’s even a ‘secret’/ special pie that’s only available by pre-order! If you are in or near Bowral, a visit here is a must!

Great selection of sweets and savory pastry. $ 3.60 for an awesome home made sausage roll and $ 4 for a genuine meat pie. Also had the lemon meringue pie and passion fruit brulé. The LMP was a tad eggy for my taste but the passion fruit brulé was nice. Lots of variety. Always try something new but start off with the savories.

Fantastic pastries and very tasty coffee. Easy to see why these guys have won so many awards. I had a pear and almond tart with a long black– both were faultless. Tender crust and melt in the mouth filling made the tart disappear before I could think to take a photo! In such a competitive marketplace, this patisserie is working hard to stay at the top — and they’re certainly succeeding.

Stumbled across this place by chance and only went in when we saw the massive list of all the awards they won for their baked goods and treats. All those awards were well earned and well deserved because everything I tired was a masterful piece of culinary triumph. The must try for me would be the vanilla slice. So good I went back the next day — and it seems so did everyone else as it was always packed!

So I was in the Southern Highlands for the weekend, and so I went to Bowral for some breakfast. As I was walking down the main street, I walked past Gumnut. On their window they had a sign saying that they had won best patisserie in NSW for the last 2 years, so I had to stop off and try it. And yes, they are the best patisserie in NSW. Or at least the best that I have tried. The almond croissant was amazing! Soft, with just in enough custard. I have had many almond croissants(as it is my go to pastry) and this was the best that I have tried. While the caramel slice was smooth and to die for. This place was so good, that I made sure that I came back the next day to try their award winning funky Vienna slice(with hazelnut butter cream). I can’t wait to come to Bowral again, just so I can try something else. I didn’t try the pies, but there was a line of people waiting for a meat pie — and if they are anything like their desserts they will be worth the wait.

I have only been to this quaint, small bakery once but it is a case of ‘never forgotten’. In the cute little town of Bowral, this patisserie has won countless awards and deserved them. Their Danish pastries, honestly, hold me back because these pastries make me want to devour the entire basket they have on display! Apricot filling, glaze, strawberries and a flaky, yet soft pastry. They are perfection. Moving on to their impressive glass case of cakes. Small, yet generously topped with cream or ganache or in very good cases, both, they are decorated beautiful and literally beg for you to try them! Bowral is really far from where I live, but it is worth the long trip to grab a few almond croissants with my mates and kick back, enjoying the Bowral sunshine. This patisserie without a doubt deserves their reputation. P. S. I also forgot to mention! They have a wonderful serving environment — when I went, my order was taken by an elderly lady, surrounded by two others of similar age telling me about which pastries were best — I felt like I had three grandmas: D

This is the source of the best pies in Australia — which off course means best in the world. They won the 2012 best gourmet pie award for their lamb cutlet pie and have been a top bakery for many years — in fact they proudly boast a hoard of 42 awards from the 2012 Easter show.
