Here is another Pet Friendly location in Perth. While this brekkie joint is quite a distance away from me, I always enjoy coming here with friends and my fur baby. The décor of the place is super cute, full of wooden tables and copper decorations. The food servings are generous, the breakfast menu is always inviting and the coffee is good. Food orders are done at the till and this place is of a good size so you can bring the kids if you have some(or are inclined to do so). I’ll be back Little Stove… I’ll be back…

Everything you hope and dream for in a suburban corner café… Little Stove, you are quite the gem. Located on a quiet street in residential Bicton this café is equally pleasing to the eye as it is to the stomach! Gorgeous interior with antique tables and chairs, knick knacks and gorgeous fresh blooms. The staff are lovely and have a floral flare to themselves as well! Plenty of outside seating available which is equally as pleasing to the senses. Lots of baked treats to choose from as well as an extensive coffee, tea & smoothie list. Fantastic brunch menu available til 3pm consisting of healthy & slightly naughty treats all consisting of fresh local produce. I was so very pleasantly surprised to find fetta stuffed arancini and salad on the menu. I am an absolute lover of arancini so there was no doubt I’d be choosing that for lunch. so glad that I did because it was absolute perfection(trust me, I’ve eaten a lot of arancini in my time!) So surprised and impressed by Little Stove — will definitely return next time I’m in the area!

Little Stove in Bicton has been on my list of places to visit for some time, although it’s not an area I get to very often as it’s quite a trek from Ellenbrook. Yesterday, however, I braved the heat to visit the Perth Makers Market in Applecross to support my friends from Little Bit Design, and naturally went looking for breakfast in the area beforehand. Little Stove is open from 7am to 5pm, seven days a week(closing only on Christmas & Boxing Days) however the markets didn’t start until 9:30 so I was forced to have breakfast later than my usual time of why-aren’t-the-doors-open-yet. I arrived at about 8:15 to find the café already buzzing and full of cyclists, but I won’t hold that against them. I was greeted with a smile at the counter, and managed to secure one of the last remaining tables. Plenty of customers came and went during my time there, including many for takeaway coffee. There should be something for everyone on the Little Stove menu, from the bacon & scrambled egg seeded bap with tomato relish($ 13.50) to the very trendy(but no judgment) banana & blueberry smoothie bowl with active almond milk, chia, goji, pot set yoghurt and oats($ 12). The slightly-lunchy pulled pork toasted sandwich with slaw, vintage cheddar & chilli potato skins($ 19.50) is right up my street. The usual extras are available, plus the rather intriguing Mexican street corn($ 8.50). Little Stove has a sustainable kitchen garden and grows as much of its own produce as possible. I was only after something light and ordered a ham & cheese croissant(no tomato thanks — $ 9), plus a hash brown($ 6) which unfortunately was devoured before I managed to photograph it. The croissant was light and crispy with just the right amount of filling — quality ham, firm but oozy cheese, and not at all greasy. The home-made hash-brown was crisp and peppery, thankfully not the under-seasoned lump of potato that I encounter way too often. My coffee arrived after the food, which I think was just a result of the café being so busy, and wasn’t long enough to be a problem. Coffee is from Myaree-based small batch roaster Grouch & Co, who I’m not familiar with but I’d go back for a second cup. The Grouch & Co website describes their coffee as «shit hot varietals from around the world», which seems like quite a brave statement. The thing that really struck me about Little Stove was how friendly the staff were, and there was a clear attempt to provide a very personal service to every customer. Even as I was leaving, I couldn’t make eye contact with any of the staff so just headed for the door, only to hear a loud«thank you» from a staff member before I made it out. It had the feeling of a truly«local» café, albeit one in a well-off area, and that’s the kind of thing that makes you want to go back. It’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to.

I first heard of this café through Instagram, and had it bookmarked for far too long without actually trying it out. On a Sunday at around noon there was plenty of parking out the front, but even so, the café was buzzing! I thought it would be nice to sit outside given the busyness inside not realising how windy it was– as my smashed avocado on rye was brought out to me, the salad was blown off the plate by the wind, which didn’t really faze me as I’m not the biggest fan of salad. but the waitress was too kind about it and offered to move my items to a table out of the wind, and replace my wind-stolen salad. All in all, it was a rather enjoyable experience. This place is located in the middle of suburbia so it’s a great quiet corner café for when you’re not feeling like the hustle and bustle of a busy street. I’m a fan of anywhere that has avocado. So I’m a fan of Little Stove.

Great coffee — this café is older sister to Grouch and Co. and has a kitch feel. Try the Turkish coffee, it’s a little bit special :)

Not a Fan of this café. However if I had kids & wanted them to run riot through a crowded restaurant without any consideration to other paying guests … I would be back.

After seeing so many positive reviews on Unilocal,I drove for half an hour to check this café out. On a Thursday at 1pm there was no parking left out the front and almost all the seats were taken inside. It’s popular clearly! This big corner café has a homely feel, with a slight granny vibe going on, with vintage teapots on display. My friend tells me this is because the café is dedicated to the owner’s grandmother who was always cooking on her little stove, hence the business name. Photos on the wall seem to verify the story. They serve breakfast and brunch only here, with the café closing at 3pm. I ordered the green juice and the corn and zucchini fritters. The fritters were thin, but still quite light and fluffy, served with a sweet relish. It came with a side salad of cous cous and pumpkin. It really hit the spot. The menu definitely has something for everyone, with pasta, crumpets, and more classic breakfast and brunch numbers to choose from. There are a range of good-looking cakes and biscuits in the display cabinet if something sweeter is more your thing. The service was friendly enough and the food came out quickly. Part of the corner of the café is a gift shop of sorts, selling bits and bobs, like scarves and cupcake paper cases.

Quick and dirty review as most of them have been quite wordy: Drinks were all rated as really good or above Food was delicious Service was ok Ambiance was great Would I go again? Yes. (The raspberry brioche French toast is more cake than toast. Consider yourself warned).

What a great find! The place was packed and for good reason — the décor is charming, like sitting at your grandma’s tea parlour… Some interesting artifacts(creepy jesus and mary framed pictures on the mantle piece) but that just adds to the cookiness and querkiness of the place. Its bright and airy layout allows it to have lots of things stacked up for decoration and/or sale and enables the customer to not feel cramped by the crowd. The food — amazing! I had the mushrooms on toast with poached eggs and parmesan… The mushies were so tasty and they definately were not skint on the serving size. My bf had the poached pair french toast and he said it was so delicious! Because it was so busy we played a game of scrabble whilst waiting for our food… A fun touch to the entire experience :) I will be back to try the turkish coffee very soon!

Hidden in the suburbs of Bicton you can find Little Stove. A spacious brunch joint with loads of charm and very cute little teapots. I phoned up Little Stove a few weeks before to discuss if I can book a table for 14 people and while they do not normally do bookings they were happy to organize this for me. We had a long table with menus, cold water and some pretty flowers in a baby vase to welcome us. Little Stove is pay at the counter which makes ordering a breeze for a large groups. The menu had a nice range of sweet and savoury dishes — everybody was very happy with their meals. The food is well priced(most between $ 15-$ 20) and the servings are plentiful. The drinks menu is pretty amazing with way more selection you will find than other places — lots of fresh juices in mason jars, Single Origin Roasters coffee and many teas that you can also purchase to take home. Service was friendly and prompt — great to see in the morning. They even have little touches that make a big difference. These include: Crafternoons, dog bowls for thirsty pooches and a book exchange. The Librarian in me loves book exchanges.

Little Stove is a real hidden gem. I’m not surprised on weekends when I’m there and it’s busy, but today was the first time I’d been there on a weekday and it is a real credit to them that nearly all tables were taken given it is tucked away a few blocks from the main highway and in a fairly residential area. They have an extensive range of tea, but today I picked up a vanilla latte which was smooth and delicious. It’s another one of those cozy set ups that I love in cafes which are great for a catch up with 1 – 2 friends. There is also some outdoor seating and a small collection of nick nacks such as tea pots, tea cosies and gift cards.

Home is where the Hearth is! Wish I lived within walking distance of this place as it does feel like home. In fact the décor could very well be taken out of a House ‘n Home magazine. It’s hip, it’s trendy, it’s vintage and it’s like stepping back into a time that our parents lived in. Pet-friendly, Child-Friendly, Cyclist-Friendly(sporty types), they’re all welcome here and they’re all loyal to the great wholesome fare offered. One of my favourite spots for Brekkies

My heart(and tummy) sings for joy at the delights of Little Stove. Fabulous food, great service, pet friendly, kid friendly and a lovely vibe. They cater for all diets. It was such a peasant change to see gluten free toast as an option for your breakfast. Plus you can text your coffee order in if you are in a hurry! Will visit again and again and again!

Oh Little Stove, I wanted to love you, I really did. I tried so hard. The kitsch décor is funky, the whole store is aesthetically pleasing, the staff were friendly enough but not up to the high standard that some our new Perth venues are setting. I ordered eggs and added a side of bacon and a hash brown. The hash brown was obviously made in house and was lovely and crispy with a great garlic flavour, not sure it was worth the(I think) $ 5 I paid for it. I was thoroughly unimpressed that my side of bacon consisted of one half rasher of bacon(if that). Admittedly it was delicious but I still expect at least a whole rasher when I’m paying extra for it. My friend had the banana bread French toast and she said it was nice banana bread but distinctly lacking in French toastness. It needed way more egg and milk soaked in before it was fried. We each had a pot of tea which were nice but quite hard to pour when the tea bits block up the spout and make the tea go everywhere. I also had a hot chocolate which was tasty but quite small for $ 4.50. Little Stove is one of those places that’s good in theory but not quite getting it on the execution.

Great corner coffee shop, but definitely one of the most expensive in perth. $ 6.50 for a large take away cappuccino, so after feeling like I was getting mugged, I wasn’t in the mood to try any of the pricey food either. I must admit though, the coffee, was smooth, creamy and wasn’t scotching hot like other places in the area. So although expensive, I admit I wasn’t disappointed. I think if I could afford to live in the area then $ 6.50 would be ok for a decent coffee, but I’m not from the area so I think I’ll just have one once a month or so.

What a cute name for a cute little café. Of course it offers the obligatory Perth breakfasts but with a few new additions which was to be expected in a unique café such as Little Stove. Different brekkie options include a spicey veggie cake and homemade crumpets. It is definitely one of the better spots for an early morning feed and caffeine hit and you won’t have the hassle of crowds and parking of Freo. As regards lunch, there is a big selection that includes burgers, baguettes and more gourmet options of fig salads and arancini balls. It is also worth popping in here for a coffee and dessert, they are scruptious

I visit the Little Stove whenever I am visiting my parents back in my hometown. It is lovely & buzzy. The interior is colourful and quirky, the selection of drinks is fabulous and the service was prompt. On my last visit I had my usual flat white-lovely coffee, Dad had a ‘malted monkey’ which was a malted mocha frappé with banana — so yummy and decadent, Mum had a iced coffee-delish! Our meals came quickly, were lovely and fresh. The desserts are fantastic and they have outdoor seating and water bowls(& treats) for the dogs. Our puppy enjoyed being made a fuss of very much. So nice to have a café within walking distance of home… well i have about 50 within walking distance in Sydney but suburban Perth is VERY different. A bit pricey compared to Sydney, which is why only 4 stars. But reasonable for Perth prices.

I chanced upon this little café whilst riding in the bus to the city one day. Located in a residential area next to a beauty salon, a cooking school and a vet, The Little Stove is a hit amongst Bicton locals. It’s out of the way of the hustle and bustle of Fremantle, but still manages to pull off a cute and quirky aesthetic that all of Freo’s café seem to have committed too with whole-hearted gusto. The café has a real homely kind of vibe, with huge leather sofas out the front, framed pictures covering the walls, a fireplace inside and 2 big chalk board menus on the wall that stretch up to the ceiling. They’ve even made creative use of a wheel barrow and turned it into a garden. The girls who work here are a really nice bunch of young students, who do a fabulous job and making sure everyone’s taken care of. They’re super professional and attentive, and like most baristas in the area, love chatting to their customers. When I’m feeling like relaxing by myself, I usually park my bike out the front, order an apple and cinnamon tea and read a book curled up in the lounges out the front. It’s a lot quieter than the cappuccino strip, and their tea list is so gigantic I have a plan to get through all of it. So far, I can happily say the apple and cinnamon tastes like Christmas, the green vanilla is just sweet enough without sugar, and the Chai Marsala is average. Not enough cinnamon for my liking! I’m knocking off a star for this café because they didn’t serve anything vegan and gluten free. However, I do know that all of their food is home made and organic, so if you do perchance upon this little treasure enjoy a cupcake for me because they certainly look lovingly hand-made! This place would be perfect to take your mother too. It’s not too busy and it’s quirky yet avoids any hipster vibes, and she’ll probably love the little gift section up the back.
