This is very sad. From a little bakery that I used to love to visit for all of its goods to… 1. big increase in prices 2. not keeping pies and sausage rolls at a high enough temp 3. caterpillars in the bread rolls I think I am done

For some reason Unilocal doesn’t believe this place has changed its name. Submitted name changes and even photos of the new signage and business card but nope — Unilocal is determined to keep it called the Crestwood Bakery. If that prevents you from finding it well that may just be a good thing. It used to be a basic little bakery that did really good pies and sausage rolls at a reasonable price. They’ve jazzed up the store a little, changed the name and then jacked the prices right up. And they’ve added ‘café’ to their name which means they’ve chucked one table and two chairs outside the front door and they serve up possibly the worst coffee I’ve ever had. And I mean that — I’ve tried it twice now and twice I’ve had a few sips and poured it into the garden out the front. And maybe its just me but it pisses me right off when you’re paying up to 5 bucks for a meat pie and then they seriously want to charge you another 50c for little bit of sauce. Its such a shame because with this little clump of local shops there is no competition, no other cafes. And if someone opened up a decent one it would be very likely to finally put these guys out of business. The only plus is that they still make their bacon and cheese croissants. Think of a standard bakery cheese & bacon roll but on a splayed open croissant. They’re amazing. Just don’t bother with anything else and BYO sauce!
