Little National Hotel

Trendy new hotel in the capitol area around Sydney. My problem is it put trendy and fashionable before useful in the rooms. There is no desk, only a round table and round stools in the room.
It is a very pretty hotel, but sometimes I prefer utility over pretty and I think next time I’ll go for a place with a little more substance than flash for a two night stay. If you are here for a 1 night fly in, it is perfect and the free movies is definitely a plus.

What is this a hotel for ants! From the outside it looks like an oversized parking garage (which it is) with the hotel perched precariously above. Don’t get me wrong the communal lounge area is great but the room size is a real issue for business travelers. Good location but for the amenities I suggest staying across the road in the Realm.

I have mixed feeling about this place…
The boy and I were going to Canberra for a family wedding and thought we might head down a couple of days earlier as neither of us had been to Canberra in around 15 years. I made a short list of hotels but as LN was a brand spanking new hotel we had our winner.
The hotel opened on the 1^st September 2015, it has 2 floors of rooms which are situated on top of a car park, a library with a coffee machine and a sitting room with fireplaces. There is also a tiny bar that opens at 5pm in the sitting room, it is extremely limited though.
We arrived on Thursday 21÷01÷16 checked in, emptied the car and made our way up to the room. As we opened the door we were very happy with what we saw… A huge king bed against a floor to ceiling window with a tv on the wall in perfect position so not to strain the neck watching tv in bed. We also found a tea pot with loose leaf tea, coffee machine with pods, slippers and the most amazing fluffy bathrobes. Next came the bathroom, we were not impressed! The bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned since the hotel had opened in September!
The sink, the floor of the shower and the drain that ran from the shower down under the sink had patches of orange mould from the lack of cleaning. There was also what appeared to be pubes on the floor and toothpaste or shampoo/​conditioner splashed down the large glass bathroom door. The other odd thing about the bathroom was the toilet seat. that’s right the toilet seat. The rim of the toilet protruded approx. 2 inches past the toilet seat so no matter how you angled yourself your thighs sat on the rim of the toilet — totally not cool!
After checking out the room we ventured around the area, grabbed some food then thought we’d call it early as we had 3 days of adventure ahead of us… This is when we noticed that there were crumbs through the top half of the bed! Are you serious! We managed to shake them all off and replaced the sheet only to notice that around the bed had never been cleaned either. The amount of crumbs sitting between the bed base and the mattress was pretty gross! Putting that out of our minds we watched a couple of the free movies and crashed.
The hotel was in a perfect location for us and the rooms, amenities and buffet breakfast both mornings was absolutely amazing, we were just extremely disappointed by the cleanliness of the room. We didn’t even mind the fact that all the bars, restaurants, pool and gym were across the street in the Hotel Realm.
We may consider staying there again based on the amazingly comfy bed, incredible breakfast and free movies but only if they pick up on the cleaning!

We had a great stay at LN hotel. This brand new hotel has the latest modern amenities, bed so comfy you could forget that you have anything to do for the day, lounge and gym facilities, well organized rooms that are small but you don’t need more space. The location is a bit removed from the city but it is close to the Parliament House and only a short walk to the lake in a safe area.
It is a bit of a unique placement for a hotel on the top 2 floors of a parking garage, but oddly, it works well.
