Not a lot of animals for the admission price, but there are some giant crocodile & snakes. Can pat a koala here. Good for kids. The café is rather small with limited choices.

Rain, shine or wind, this place seems to stay open. We were here on a cold windy day but that did not stop us from having a pleasant experience. Yes, this zoo is small but if you are only interested in seeing Australian animals, this place does the job! We did the guided tour which starts at 11am and covers pretty much the whole zoo. You do not need to pay extra for the guided tour and food for the kangaroos will be handed to you complimentarily to feed the free roaming kangaroos. You will also have a chance to take a picture with the koala and pet the wombats during the guided tour. Before you head off to Ballarat wildlife & Reptile park, don’t forget to stop by the visitors center at Ballarat and pick up a 20% coupon. With the 20% coupon the zoo fee was very worth it!

The Ballarat Wildlife & Reptile Park is far smaller than your typical zoo, but it’s well worth the visit. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with the park’s animals at no additional cost. Throughout the day the park has a set of wildlife shows, including ones featuring snakes, wombats, crocodiles, koalas, and Tasmanian devils. Tip: Don’t bother paying for a professional koala photo; you can get one for free on your own camera at the koala show. All of the attendees get a chance to pet these furry(and seriously soft) creatures. By far, my favorite part was getting to hang out with kangaroos – they’re hopping, well, mostly laying around, everywhere. At the start of your visit, purchase a bag of kangaroo food for just $ 3, and you’ll have all day entertainment feeding these guys.
