A fail safe lunch option the Soup Bowl serves a varied mix of wraps, salads and, well, soup. The convenient location and friendly staff have led to me making a habit of hitting up their Coriander Chicken wrap when in the mood for something quick and light. Despite the signage and layout making the store look a little like a fast food outlet, the quality and freshness of the product ensures it doesn’t feel that way. I was a little skeptical at first about a food outlet specialising in soup being successful or appetising in a tropical climate such as ours but I am a major convert. The wraps and salads are perfect for a sunny afternoon and on those chilly winter nights there is nothing better than their chorizo soup. It has even established itself as a bit of a social hub given that there was a period where Friday afternoons featured live music and an open mic. It is this unconventional approach that makes the Soup Bowl such an appealing option for those of us who like things a little left of centre.
