In years gone by the Melbourne show ground brought forth the farmer from the field and show cased a simpler life to the city folk. As well as hosting an interesting array of shows from chickens to chick peas and the ol’ faithful CWA. Over the past few years a redevelopment has seen less of the farm life and more of the exhibition life. The area is a smoosh up of new buildings, and cracks of old heritage listed spaces. More often then not you will find an expo or warehouse clearance on here. Parking is usually around $ 10/day.

I love the fact that they have their own train station. If you aren’t going during the traditional show times, check out whether Metro are running services especially for the event. If they are TAKETHETRAIN. Because there is quite frankly nothing worse than being stuck on Epsom Road for an hour, instead of enjoying whatever event you are going to. It seems to have been undergoing a bit of a transformation lately, nice new buildings combined with the stunning vintage stables of the agricultural society, where it all began. And than that ridiculous pie! Whatever happened to the giant Big M?
