My partner I and dined here tonight. Upon entering we were met by a very untrained waitress who was very poor with her English(Japanese, Chinese perhaps). The kitchen looked very untidy and staff looked rather miserable. My partner ordered a Canadian Club dry which was very flat. I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli which was nice, but not nice enough to spend $ 20+ on. My partner had the spaghetti which unfortunately tasted like it was from a jar. Overall unfortunately this experience wasn’t the greatest and rather disappointing. I do recommend bringing a pillow as the seats are very uncomfortable!

Recently under new management the menu has shrunk by about a third, but this has allowed the new owners to really concentrate and perfect a few great dishes. The previous owner apparently had quite a negative reputation(although I personally got along with him very well– and found him quite charming), so many people may be wary returning — to them I say, you’re missing out on a lovely local Italian experience in Albany Creek.

Somewhere along the way Santo lost his touch. I have very fond memories of dining with friends here drinking copious amounts of red wine and eating authentic Italian pizza in this cute little restaurant — a little piece of Italy in Albany Creek. Recently my husband and I ordered a take away pizza(vegetarian of course) to satisfy our late night craving… When we picked it up it smelt a little funky(like smelly feet) however we still decided to give it a go. Unfortunately it tasted almost as bad as it smelt! Hoping he was just having an ‘off’ day we called the Santo to report our dissatisfaction. He was very understanding and offered a free replacement at our convenience. Alas, just a few nights later when we claimed our freebie, that same smell filled our car and our disappointed nostrils! Both pizzas went straight into the bin — minus one slice our dog happily chowed into. So upsetting…
