Turi is a great example of the benefits of the South Australian Government’s small bar liquor licenses. The Sicilian themed part café, part restaurant and part bar is what has been lacking in the Adelaide CBD in the past. Kick off the day with a splendid coffee and one of the freshly prepared breakfast items. Come back for one of the best valued lunches in Adelaide such as a daily pasta special, panini, or to die for meat balls. Leave the office early on a Friday and relax with a $ 5 wine or beer and snack on some traditional Sicilian panelle. I highly recommend Turi.

This is my FAVOURITE café in the city. Their coffee is the best, the service is fab and the pasta lunch specials are amazing. The winner though is the Cannoli. Best Cannoli I have ever ever had. I can’t rave about this place enough. Highly recommended!

If you check Facebook, you will find that I left a 3* review for watery pasta… I was then abused on there own webpage(check review section) … and told to go elsewhere. Not only does this place have bad service, it also has bad pasta. How ever I was willing to more then try another meal, the owner had even offered a replacement, this was before the staff had gone on a rant against me, the owner then blocked me… poor service, poor effort. do not eat here. I should mention since that, I have changed it to a 1* review, I highly recommend you do not eat here, first place I have ever on Facebook given a 1* review. and now on Unilocal :(

I couldnt believe this place had been opened over a year and I didnt know about it. But I guess perhaps its a blessing in disguise that its a hidden gem as cool hangouts tend to become overrated and overcrowded. It is a real luxury to be taking in the surroundings of this little joint without strangers’ conversations in my ear, or them sharing their grooming routine or lack thereof. This place was memorable for me not only because of the décor and the relaxed feel, sufficient personal space but mostly for the determination of the female bartender to make me a drink I would be thankful for. I am extremely picky/indecisive about my drink choice, as those who have been out with me are familiar. And thankful was I! I did not get to taste the tempting dishes they had on the menu as this was pre-dinner drinks but I cannot wait to try it soon!

This is a great little spot that so far I’ve only tried during lunch. Great coffee. Staff are friendly and attentive. I’ve trialled so far some very yummy soup and their pastries are to die for. Next time I pop past I am keen to stop by after work with some friends as it’s a great little spot!

Food is good quality and authentic(not that I’m Sicilian, but it seemed authentic and the Maitre-D guy seemed to know it all pretty well. There were apparently Sicilian wines on offer, too. Prices were expensive for a lunch; they really need a lunch menu with quicker, lighter and cheaper meals. I ordered the Porchetta(pork dish, about $ 18) which arrived with reasonably sized amount of meat, but nothing else. I had to order a side of vegetables for an extra $ 5 so it wasn’t a complete canivore-fest. Service was patchy, though I think they’re quite new, so this may improve. When we were seated and had the meals explained to us, we were asked what we wanted to drink. As we had just sat down I asked for water for the table to start with. We weren’t asked again for the entire meal. Atmosphere is really good; funky without being pretentious, and we could hear each other talk.

Friendly staff to greet us on entry, obliging in explaining the dishes on offer. Menu written on black walls. Would have loved to try the GF chickpea friiters. We were told they are made with chickpea flour, best eaten hot, just wonder why they are available for take out? Moorish perhaps? The Arancini was nice n hot n oozing with melted cheese when cut opened. Three goes the diet 2 Sicilian sausages with fresh fennel n orange lettuce salad was well dressed but the 2 slices of oven bread was a bit disappointing. Coffee were great The interior is well decked out on the walls n floors but not the exposed ceiling with pipes n cement joints looked unfinished The vibe is great for a Friday lunch I was told the restroom is very clean with dyson drier!

The very first meal I ate in Italy was a bowl of pasta and nap(tomato) sauce. It wasn’t because I was being fussy, or because I was eating in a dodgy«tourista» joint, it was because true Italian cuisine relies on using 2 or 3 of the finest, freshest ingredients and making it into a dish. Sounds like peasant fare, tastes like the gods have been taking Italian cooking lessons from Antonio Carluccio. It is for this reason that Turi Sicilia have hit the nail on the head with their café and bar. The venue is cosy but still industrial. With exposed air ducts, concrete flooring and wooden seats and use of a colour palette and design inspired by the Sicilian flag. Menus are written on the blackboard painted walls and you have a choice between coffees, wines, apertivos, and mains during the day, and bar snacks at Friday night drinks. My 5 stars goes to the Sicilian sausages, stuffed with hand ground pork(note that means not minced), fennel and orange and served with a lettuce, orange and olive salad. Now we all know that when arancini is on the menu it is basically an mandatory dining companion. And one giant spinach and fetta arancini here is enough for 2 being around the size of my fist(ok maybe slightly smaller). They were perfectly crispy on the outside and falling apart gooey on the inside. The other mandatory side you must try are the panella; chickpeas mushed and fried with some kind of herb. Yep crap explanation but delicious only if eaten with the lemon and chilli sauce they provide. I’m already dating a Sicilian but if I wasn’t I think I would be making eyes and regular lunch dates with Turi Sicilia.

Very authentic flavours. I had the ricotta Arancini(risotto balls) and a salad with olives. My friend had meatballs. Balanced and fresh. Excellent espresso.
