My partner and I came here after a lovey dinner at Namaste on George St. We were greeted most cordially and were seated in the back to look over the menu. We were perusing the menu and shared a chaste kiss when the woman that greeted us so nicely came back to check on us. Upon seeing us kissing her manner changed abruptly and she began calling us ladies and asking if we were alright. We were quick to part to explain we still needed some time when she stormed off without a word. This is not an LGBTQI friendly place. Go elsewhere. Worth noting: the other staff seemed very friendly. But we can only assume they were sent to deal with us after the first woman was so offended by our love.

What a cool, welcoming little spot! After walking past for months, we decided to have a few drinks here on Saturday night, and I am so glad we did. My husband and I had a wonderful time, all the staff were so friendly and accommodating which made our night very relaxed and enjoyable. The small menu suits the cocktail bar well and if you haven’t been already, I highly recommend you visit and enjoy! The hours will fly by and you’ll be glad you ventured in! Wonderful place for a couple of pre-dinner drinks or even to spend the entire night there! Quite intimate and definitely worth a visit!

Pigs fly, elephants have long trunks and all things alcholically magical happen at The Flying Trunk. I have only been here for a wine and cocktail so far but this place really adds to the quirky little shops, bakeries and cafes that are popping up on KWR! Fast and friendly service, combined with some unique concoctions and names of cocktails means you will spend most of your time there deciding which cocktail you’ll get when you next return. The Elephant Espress is on my list to try next time. If you are like my other half though and think cocktail is for cordial drinkers then never fear — the wine and beer list is for quoffers and swirlers alike. These guys take their booze seriously and I am definitely signing up for one of their monthly«tasting flight masterclasses» in the future.

The only small bar on KWR! A welcome addition to this street. They do great cocktails and will make-up martinis the way you like it. No KI gin yet but they have both West Wind gins and a new wine list as of this week. I haven’t tried their grazing plates but it seems to be well matched with their cocktails and wines. The bar staff are friendly, down-to-earth and welcoming. Some Sundays there are special events like last week was rum so it’s worth getting on their Facebook page. Only suggestion I have for them is complimentary bar snack like the yummy almonds(Nook Noosh, closest bar on Unley Road). Good place for date nights, girly catch ups and after work drinks. Check it out if you are in the area.

This is a joint review from two Unilocalers who stumbled across this cute little cocktail/tapas bar one Thursday night. The walls of this bar make you feel like you are in a child’s bedroom. The theme is based on the tale of the flying trunk. The cocktails are delicious. We had the salted caramel star and the so flute. I loved the little pretzel star in the salted caramel. They also serve tapas food. They also serve tapas food. We had the pan fried gnocchi with artichokes, and the buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes. Mmm! The prices are pretty reasonable as well. The cocktails are $ 17 — $ 20. The tapas is under $ 15. We also had a lovely conversation with the owner evi about the design of the place. I’d love to come back again on my way home from workies :) Nothing much more I can add to what Karen F had commented, both Adam & Evi are great hosts. Very attentive and explained both the cocktails and food very well and enticed us into trying them. Enjoyable evening.
