What a great way to spend a couple of hours! Staff were friendly and professional, and the emphasis on safety made for a comfortable visit. Also nice the way they talk to you; not sure what I expected but was nice not to be talked down to or treated like an idiot. Got to shoot 4 guns, from the 9 mm Glock to a big Dirty Harry .44 Magnum, and enjoyed it so much plan to do it more regularly back in Perth.

This place was great. Staff were supportive and helpful. It was great fun. Our group enjoyed it. We were able to shoot 4 guns and we weren’t rushed. It was a great session

Pew pew pew! Bonny and Clyde, Rambo or Bugsy Malone, be whoever you want to be and let off some steam. Don’t expect to come in here and have a laugh — that comes after you finish and hysterically realise you’ve just shot 50 rounds of bullets using 4 different guns(including a Magnum .44). The staff here are total pros and serious about safety. Watch a video, listen to the same instructions 3 or 4 times and you’ll still go to pick up your first gun and fear you’re going to shoot yourself in the foot. Well I did anyway… Luckily there’s always someone on hand to help. The experience isn’t cheap and that means the riff raff aren’t along for the joy ride. You can book in with a group of 5 or more and get a discount and then shoot at stuff with friends. The Trev’s Special is where it’s at — and not just because of the name! $ 95 gets you 50 rounds and 4 guns. This is one of the best adrenalin rushes you’ll get that doesn’t involve jumping off of a cliff or a plane so add it to the bucket list folks!

As part of a surprise Buck’s day for me, my friends organized a trip to the shooting range. I’d always wanted to try firing a real gun so this was real treat, and I got to shoot no just 1 but 4 different guns! The staff there were all very professional and safety was always their top priority while we were there. Before we got to shoot anything though, we had to watch a safety briefing video which explained all the things you should and should not do once you enter the firing range. I didn’t realize how loud a gun was in real life until I heard it without the ear muffs on. There were two different rooms, and in each room we fired two different guns. You could move the target further or closer depending on how much you wanted to challenge yourself. I have to admit, holding a gun steady and firing accurately is more difficult than it looks, and it made me think about how ridiculous it is that people in the moves can fly through the air and hit targets accurately. I have to say I prefer the revolvers over the semi-automatic pistols. They had this really wild west feel to them and the kick back you get from them when you shoot really gets your blood pumping. It’s not the cheapest thing to do in Adelaide, but it is definitely different and something I would like to try again, only this time with bigger guns haha. Lot’s of fun, and located right in the city. If you get tired of feeling like a fraud with your first person shooters and Battlefield 3, drop into their shop and get a feel for how the professionals do it.

Yes, I’m a girly girl. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to shoot a .44 mag Super Redhawk. As a fan of John McClane, it just seemed right that I gave shooting guns a go at some point — so when a friend’s gun nut BF offered to come along to Marksman’s Pistol Range, I jumped at the chance. I’d never shot a gun before(to my knowledge, anyway… I could have had a Jason Bourne-like brainwashing in my past), so the adrenaline was definitely pumping. The staff are very professional and super safe and make it loads of fun — closely supervising beginners like myself and taking you thoroughly through safety precautions as well as handling/loading weapons. The training includes both a DVD safety program as well as a demo and personal instruction. We did the Trev’s Special package for $ 85, sampling four guns including revolvers and semiautomatics over the course of about an hour, which was perfect for newbs like myself. If your friends aren’t quite up to gun toting, they can watch(and possibly film you) from outside the range. While I’m definitely no McClane, it was a truly unique experience — I won’t ruin the ending for you, but the team at Marksman’s definitely make the packages super fun!
