Okay, first of all: GET A BAGEL. I know that probably sounded shouty in your head, which is good, because if you were here right now I probably would have shouted it at you. I get really fired up about bread, sorry. I tell you what though, the bagels at East End Providore are worth getting fired up about. On a chilly Wednesday arvo, after a morning shift at work, I was pretty darn ravenous and the prosciutto bagel was just the ticket to keep me satisfied til dins. Run, don’t walk. Another big draw-card of EEP is the fact that they stock Four Seeds brownies, aka god’s gift to the chocolate lover. The mix of offerings complements everything else that’s going on in Ebenezer Place really well, and adds to the decidedly European vibe — great for those of us who like to dream we’re in Milan/Paris/Berlin of an afternoon. The only major things that rained on my foodie parade were the slow service and the fact my coffee came out basically at room temperature. I did, however, appreciate the little glass of water that was served alongside my coffee on a cute little tray(couldn’t think of a fancier word but it really is quite a fancy thing IRL). That’s a simple but clever touch right thurrr. I’m surprised more people haven’t gotten around it actually.

East End Providore has become a favourite of mine on the ever popular Ebenezer Place. AND I have to rave about the great gourmet brekky I had on a Monday morning! With the perfect view and the most irresistible breakfast bagel, I knew I was starting my Monday the right way(their selection of bagels was endless, from sweet to savoury). I also heard along the grape vine that their mixed fruit juices are to die for, but unfortunately on the day, I wasn’t able to get one, so I opted for freshly squeezed orange juice instead which was still a yummy choice! The interior décor is simplistic-modern, with a wooden edge. Although quite small, this hipster-like café still offers enough room inside with tables and high stools, but also outside with a few low tables and chairs. Overall, such a great little experience and I’ll be back to see what else East End Providore has to offer!

When I first ate goat’s cheese I fell in love, I love mushrooms, pesto is a favourite condiment of mine, and who doesn’t like beetroot? At East End Providore today I could have all of these things on delicious gluten free bread! It was amazing. I’ve had coffee and salted caramel brownies here before and the coffee is always great but today was the first time I’d had lunch. It was glorious! The setup is beautiful but I wouldn’t say it was child friendly(lots of high stools) but it’s fine for me and there are a few outdoor tables which would be better for children. Coconut milk is an option for coffee which I always appreciate. You can also purchase lovely local and healthy produce and the kale juice is worth a try. Will become a favourite that I frequent in the(near) future!

East End Providore is my favourite café in the East End. I have been in for breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks and even bought produce for dinner here, and I can say without a doubt that I have never experienced anything other than perfection. The first thing that struck me about East End Providore was the gorgeous décor. The sleek lines and bright interior is beautiful and inviting. And you really see all of its beauty on a sunny day where the whole shop lights up and looks vibrant. What I love about the menu is that Daniele(the owner) makes sure that all of the produce is fresh and seasonal. Its not just that the food and drink is wonderful, its those little touches that make the experience. Fresh cut flowers, an ever refilled glass of water, biscotti with your coffee, and the friendliest staff going around. Working in the area, I am always popping in to grab some fresh produce for lunch or dinner and Daniele and the staff are always happy to help, even if it means giving me something from the kitchen. I could rant and rave all day!

Came here looking for a light lunch. We ordered a couple of salads and some delicious juices that more than hit the spot. Possibly the most perfect salad I’ve ever had. Not too busy and not stingy on the good stuff i.e. Haloumi, strawberries. If I lived in Adelaide if be here every day

I’m in love and it’s not love at first sight. I’ve enjoyed a few breakfasts and lunches here and can say the experience is consistently wonderful. East End Providore is more than just a pretty face(although I love gorgeous flowers, fruit filled crates and that massive set of shelves full of treats) it has a charming personality and tastes delicious! There is little point sharing the best menu items because I’m yet to see the same tasty treats appear twice on the menu. As a sneak peak for me highlights have included a pesto pasta, vegetarian lasagne and a papaya, yoghurt muesli! Be adventurous, try something new as all the food is fresh and full of flavour. The service is lovely, and drinks come on little silver trays with biscotti on the side — it really is the little things that count! I just really hope they expand their range of juices — that would seal the deal for me! I just can’t wait to visit again!

Daniele sure had her work cut out for her, joining the already high level café contenders on Ebenezer Place, but she has added a special European attention to detail, table service and feminine touch to this providore and café that means you can add this to your mission of collecting the set of trendy hipster on this street. It is the fresh floral arrangements, a changing weekly soup, salad and sandwich menu, the white uniforms and clean wooden lines of this café that give you that feeling when you smell a new car deodorizer. «Ahhh piney fresh.» All hot drinks come with a little extra somethin’ somethin’ on the side. If you’re trying to decide, have the Cirelli coffee or a home made pot of perfectly cardamom flavoured chai. I don’t really like the idea of eating scrambled eggs from a cup, but I would eat their perfectly cooked & spiced chilli eggs from a champagne glass if they served it here. Meals are simple but ingredients are high quality, SA produce — following on from their theme in the providore shop front — and justify the cost. As my Mum said, «I don’t have a favourite, you’re all special in your own way,» so I have to reiterate that East End Providore is not just another café, it compliments the vibe on this street. Without it now, I’d feel like I’d lost a member of the family!

Set in Ebenezer Place this little gourmet shop come café is a foodies delight. Every time I walk in I instantly feel relaxed and at home. They sell a great range of imported and local goodness like olive oils, fresh pasta, tinned goods, organic fruit and veg, cheeses, meats Etc. They also have a nice little menu each day with fresh daily specials. Every time i come the coffee has been spot on and I love the fact you receive a water and little sweet automatically. Other small attentions to detail like a lovely shop fit out and fresh flowers scattered around make the Providore for a great coffee/breakfast/lunch spot… As a side note the staff are always friendly and welcoming and are happy to have a chat about coffee and food with like minded passionate people. Do make the time to check it out and be surprised like I was.

Best thing to hit the East End! While loving all of the coffee spots, bistro’s, restaurants etc, what has been lacking in the East End is a ‘top of the line’ Providore. East End Providore has hit it. Seriously good breads, smallgoods, cheese, fruit & veg, patisserie, great range of Simon Bryant’s pulses, real Ozzie Peanut Oil, Coriole Olive Oil. For coffee afficionados — be delighted, have one of their coffees — perfect. I’ll be back. Still mad about Nano and Hey Jupiter — but East End Providore is just the perfect addition to ‘our’ East End.
