Unassuming, quaint restaurant that is only open 5 – 6 months each year. It is like having dinner in the home of good friends. Very friendly, very loud, quite a bit of fun. You walk into a tiny dining room — maybe 4 – 5 long communal tables that seat ~20 people total. If you squeeze your way through the dining room and out the back door, there is a nice, fairly spacious patio with tables and chairs. Again, communal seating. The drink options are a selection of wines at various levels of fermentation and sparking wine(very good!). I think there might be beer as well. In any case, the menu is pretty simple: trout(fried or smoked) or schnitzel. Sides can be ordered separately. Think potatoes, cabbage, etc. I ordered the whole fried trout. It came with a side of horseradish cream sauce. So simple, so delicious! After dinner, we moved to an in-door table. With communal seating, you either focus on avoiding eye contact, or you make friends. The nice folks seated next to us ended up ordering a round of grappa for the entire table. It was lovely and a nice end to the evening. If you’re looking for an off-the-beaten-path«locals» spot, this is certainly it.
