Originally an 18 hole course with driving range the GC Semlin now is a 27 hole resort with an extra 6 hole short course. A separate hut has been added to the range featuring a scope system. The 27 hole course can be played in three sections A, B and C. A and B are the former 18 hole course and feature more trees and bush vegetation whilst the C-course is more open land. The course play relatively long and almost every holes gives the player an individual challenge, as doglegs, trees and water hazards forces one to play tactically. Almost every hole features a water hazard of some kind. The 10th for example features one creek and two lakes and yes, I sacrificed a ball to the golf gods in both lakes. The par 414th offers a double fairway, separated by a creek in the middle. So you have the choice to go 180m carry to the right fairway or go straight 200m onto the left fairway that will leave you with some 130m onto the green across the creek. One of the biggest challenges is left on 18, a relatively short par 4 with 337 meters from the whites, but with an island green in front of the clubhouse. I hammered my five iron down the fairway and left me some 140m to the green. Sadly, my 6 iron came 5m short and gave the clubhouse terrace something to cheer as my ball plunged into the water. But score isn’t everything. The course in my opinion is one of the nicest in the Berlin/Brandenburg area. The only problem is that is it relatively far away, under normal conditions it takes me 90 minutes to get me there. That’s more than it takes me to get to Fleesensee, despite of it being further away. Green fee is 30EUR on weekday and 50EUR on weekends.
