Beste thailändische Nudelsuppe, die außerhalb Thailands gegessen habe. Habe neben der Nudelsuppe auch schon das Khao Yum probiert, auch zu empfehlen wenn es warm ist und die Suppe nicht passt. Zutaten sind frisch, die Gewürze originell (wobei hier bei der Verpackung auf Plastik verzichtet wird, sondern die klassischen Weckgläser genutzt werden. Daumen hoch dafür!) zu trinken kann ich den thailändischen Tee empfehlen. Es gibt hübsche Außenplätze an der Straße, aber das ist nicht schlimm. Man fühlt sich dann fast wie an einen der Streetfoodstände in Asien. Innen ist gemütlich mit einem kleinen Vintagetouch eingerichtet. Das Personal überaus freundlich und zuvorkommen und sehr herzlich.

Zum Glück wohnen wir gleich in der Nähe und haben so die Möglichkeit, «mal schnell» warm und gesund zu essen. Klar, es gibt kein umfangreiches Menü, aber das ist ja auch nicht der Anspruch einer Suppenküche. Die Suppen sind lecker und das Personal herzlich. Alles ist liebevoll im Vintage-​Goho-​Look eingerichtet. Wenn man möchte, kann man auch alles zum Mitnehmen haben.

Such a welcome surprise to find a Thai restaurant that doesn’t insist on serving yet more mediocre versions of Red/​Yellow/​Green curry with a choice of meat or tofu.
The menu is brief. Noodles in broth, a salad with rice as the base, and sticky rice with or without fruit.
Vegan versions of the noodles and salad are printed on the menu, so you don’t have to ask for ingredients to be left out. I’m vegetarian and I like the peace of mind of not having to request that the fish sauce be left out, and then hoping to hell that the cook actually remembered doing that.
Presentation is plain in keeping with the idea of this being Thai street food, but this does not take away from the quality of the food in any way.
I ordered the rice salad dish, and every bite was flavorful. I could have done with a little more lime juice and chilli (rectified by adding spice powder and the vegan version of fish sauce) but that’s an individual preference.
I really appreciate the vegan version of the chilli fish sauce. Smelling the latter from any closer than two table-​lengths away usually does appreciable harm to my appetite, and I like that the vegan sauce is in jars clearly labeled as such.
Not a big fan of the seating arrangements here. The tables are low, and the chairs are upholstered in the hideous «vintage» style revival that is all the rage in Germany, a good many years after it died the miserable death that it deserves elsewhere. Not only do the chairs look terrible, they also are not very comfortable to sit in, which is yet another feature of these abominations. I appreciate mid-​Century pieces and Danish Modern furniture just as much if not more than your average bearded hipster claims to, but most of this bottom-​feeder crap that finds its way into cheap restaurants and cafés needs to be burnt whenever the crematorium’s having a slow day.
Well, apart for the rant above, Regenzeit is promising, and I’ll be back there for more lunches.

Ein wunderbares neues kulinarisches Kleinod in Goho. Die Suppen sind sehr lecker und beste Handwerkskunst. Auch die Brühe für die Suppen ist der Chefin zufolge selbst gemacht. Ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen ist der Klebreis als Nachtisch.
An die Korianderhasser (wie mich): Beim Bestellen dran denken, kann problemlos weggelassen werden.

Lecker frische Thai-​Nudelsuppen in Gostenhof!
Freunde, die fürs Lieferamt Getränke ausfahren, haben uns erzählt, dass in Gostenhof mal wieder eine kleiner netter Laden aufgemacht hat.
So haben wir uns mal wieder nach «Goho» aufgemacht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Beim Betreten des Ladens merkt man schon, dass viel Liebe in den Lebenstraum eines kleinen thailändischen Restaurants gesteckt wurde (Die super nette Besitzerin hat uns die Gründungsstory später etwas erzählt).
Nachdem wir auf den anderen Tischen schon die optisch sehr ansprechenden Suppen bestaunen konnten, fiel die Wahl auch bei uns auf eine große vegane Thai-​Suppe. Diese wurde dann offensichtlich frisch zubereitet und uns nach ca 5−10min serviert. Auch ohne Fleisch hat die Suppe wirklich super lecker & frisch geschmeckt. Meine asiatisch stämmige Begleitung war übrigens auch sehr zufrieden.
Nach einem netten Plausch mit der Chefin, die uns noch erzählt hat, dass sie auch zukünftig eine abwechslungsreiche saisonal abgestimmte Karte anbieten möchte und neben den Suppen auch Reisgerichte auf der Karte hat, sind wir dann angenehm gesättigt gegangen und werden aber schon bald wieder vorbeischauen!
