Even the yak would say«Yuk»! So we came here on a Sunday, and apparently the donut factory in Nuremberg doesn’t do Sundays… I have to start by saying that before this experience, we’ve been frequenting the store in Erlangen since the day it opened(mainly for the coffee though — which is excellent btw.). Lately, however, they have been slacking, so we figured we’d try the newly opened store in the train station Nürnberg. The result was quite surprising, and I don’t mean that in a good way. The donuts were old & stale, the icing was starting to flake off, the filling was warm and runny — the result being that one of them had even gone bad inside. It’s a shame we waited with opening the box until we got home, maybe we just got the runts of the litter… we’ll never know. Be that as it may, those were pretty damn expensive runts…(1,60 € per donut) Obviously it had been a very warm day, but there is a reason why stores are supposed to have a consistent cooling chain… here, however, the refrigerated counter was not… well…refrigerated!(no joke, no cooling system) I really like Dunkin’ Donuts, but considering the fact that the store had just opened mere weeks earlier, perhaps it would be better to not open several more stores around town, until you manage to increase the standard of the one’s that you already have. Bottom line: * Fool me once, shame on you — fool me twice, shame on me * No chance that I’ll ever go back there!
