Das Essen hier ist SUPER lecker und Bedienung sehr nett.
Der Laden slebst ist lustig eingerichtet und falls es oben keinen Platz mehr gibt ist, sind unten viel mehr Sitzpätze.
Zentral gelegen udn immer gut für einen Snack vor dem Abendprogramm.

Definitely worth the price. Not the same as a burrito back home but it satisfies the craving for Mexican!

Essen war ok. Preislich leider überzogen. Es wird mit bundle Angeboten hantiert, die einen nur dazu verleiten mehr zu kaufen. Die Tortilla Chips die als Beilage dabei waren, haben sich wohl ausversehen neben meinen Burrito gelegt. Denn mit lächerlichen 5 Chips kommt man heut zu Tage nicht weit.

Deluxe chicken burrito was okay. I was hungry. There was MUCH more rice, beans (your choice of type) than chicken. So it was more a deluxe chick burrito. I sat outside and enjoyed watching psssers-​by look st me oddly. IT HAD TO BE THE BURRITO. Right?

Sehr lecker, aber extrem geizig mit dem guacamole… Hab ein Burrito Deluxe bestellt (also mit guacamole) und bekomme ½EL guacamole? da könnten Sie ruhig den ganzen EL drauf machen. sogar 1,5 sollte drauf. Das würde eher gerecht sein da du es schon mit guacamole bestellst und erwartest, und nicht nur den kleinen Tröpfchen.

Ich habe im Taco Libre Tacos gegessen :) sie waren sehr lecker. Überwiegend frische Zutaten. Auch die Mädels die uns bedient haben waren super drauf. Wenn ich wieder in München bin komme ich vorbei! :)

Leicht entfernt vom Wahnsinn des Hauptbahnhofes empfiehlt sich Taco Libre für eine kleine kulinarische Reise nach Mexico.
Meine Wahl fiel auf den vegetarischen Burrito (Burrito waren mal szenetechnisch das, was erst Burger und dann VEGAN bald sein werden — Hip)
Ich empfehle die scharfen Bohnen (der mexikanischen Ehre wegen).

This one’s a head turner. Even if for the fact you don’t expect to see Lucha Libre masks and a giant burrito shop in the heart of the Bavarian capital.
I’ve been on the hunt for truly authentic Mexican in Munich for years. This funky little joint doesn’t necessarily check that box per se, but it does come close to the American-​ized versions of this tasty little power pockets.
In true do-​it-​yourself fashion, you can choose between tasty chicken, beef or veggies and ask your personal burrito crafter to load it up with the goodies like cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, etc. In the end, they aren’t the size of your head like you might find in the American burrito joints — but again, do you need to eat something the size of your head for lunch?
Prices are a touch steep, but not out of control. A burrito and a bier for lunch runs close to 9 euro.
My only pet peeve? They give you (almost exactly) three tortilla chips to munch on along with your burrito. Why not a true handful and a quick scoop of pico de gallo to go with? It costs probably 5 cents, but would add a nice touch.
All in all, a nice easy and tasty lunch within an avocado-​throw of the HBF and an oasis of spice in the usual pork-​and-​potato world. Give it a bite!

Die gute Nachricht, so nüchtern wie mein Beitrag war der Burrito nicht .
Taco Libre besteht seit 4 Jahren, war auch zum Anfang schon mal hier wurde
aber trotzdem nicht wiedererkannt ;-)
Der Beef Burrito kam 6.50 Euro war ok, Bedienung freundlich und schnell
die Einrichtung schnörkellos und sauber .
Kaugummis gibt es nicht im Angebot sonst hätte Ich hier noch etwas in die Länge
ziehen können .

und beeindruckt mich nicht weiter .

Best mexican fast food place in the whole city. A bit expensive may be, but the taste quality is worth it!

I think I’ve been to almost every burrito place in Munich and I have to say this is the best in the city. This is the closest you can get to Chipotle. They actually have black beans which is a rare find here. The ingredients are fresh and the Pico de gallo is perfectly chunky. I only give them 4 stars because I’ve been here quite a few times and the staff isn’t very friendly. I only wish there was somewhere to get some queso, oh how I miss melty white cheese :).

Essen ist solide, jedoch bei weitem nicht der beste Taco bzw. Burrito der Stadt.
Das Fleisch war ziemlich zäh und wahrscheinlich nicht so frisch.
Preislich ganz ok.
Ich würde wieder hier essen, aber nicht extra für hinfahren.

Der Burrito war ok, nur das Fleisch — nicht ganz unwensentlich — war ein wenig zäh und von der angepriesene Zitronen etc Marinade habe ich nichts mehr geschmeckt. Das Fleisch lag einfacj schon viel zu lange auf dem Grill rum statt frisch gebratenzu sein, ich war vermutlich der letze Gast an dem Abend. Aber trotzdem, das darf nicht sein.

Finding a good burrito place in Munich has proved to be a challenge. I’m a Bay Area native, so I take my burritos very seriously. I had previously tried a couple of places that ranged from good-​but-​weird to disappointing (at Condesa, my burrito had carrots and potatoes in it and the tortilla was chewy). It was getting to the point where I had lost hope of finding a decent burrito in this city, knowing that Europe is notorious for butchering Mexican and Mexican-​American food.
I can safely say, however, that Taco Libre satisfied my craving. I can’t really put my finger on it, but the burrito FELT like a burrito from home. It lacked the punch of Mission Taqueria burritos, but the beans were delicious and seasoned, they used crunchy iceberg lettuce (instead of dark greens, which add an unusual flavor), and there was guacamole to boot.
Oh yeah, this is a subtle thing: they actually called it «Guacamole» instead of «Avocado Crème», which is I guess what Germans like to call guacamole. And they actually served the burrito in aluminum foil! Bless them!
That being said, it was NOT an exact copy of a Mission burrito. But it is definitely the closest I’ve encountered so far. I will definitely come back to try their tacos and quesadillas.

Nachdem ich Taco Libre jetzt quasi zu meinem neuen Stamm-​Foodspot gemacht habe, wollte ich hier mal die Gründe dafür mit euch teilen:
Taco Libre bietet für alle Liebhaber der schnellen mexikanischen Küche die Erlösung von den wirklich durchwegs schlechten «Mexikanern» in München. (Die mit Mexikanisch sonst Nichts zu tun haben und auch das Wort «Mex» aus der Bezeichnung «TexMex» streichen sollten).
Also, was bietet Taco Libre als Gegenprogramm?
Ein überschaubares Angebot an Quesadillas, Taccos (mit Hänchen oder Rind) und Burritos.
Und was ist drin? Geschmackvolle Guacamole (die im Gegensatz zu meiner Erfahrung bei Condessa in Schwabing auch nach Guacamole schmeckt), frische Pico de Gallo, schwarze oder braune Bohnen, «rot» gewürzter Reis, Sour Cream, Käse, Salat und hausgemachte rote Salsa.
Die Zutaten schmecken allesamt frisch und würzig (die Kritik einiger Unilocaler im Bezug auf «Geschmacklosigkeit» kann ich überhaupt nicht bestätigen), man kann zwischen Corn– und Flour Tortillas auswählen (soft, nicht hardshell), und der Burrito wird nach dem Rollen nicht nochmal getoastet (wie im Condessa) sondern bleibt soft. (vgl. Chipotle in den USA)
Als Kritikpunkte bei Taco Libre könnte man höchstens das Fleisch und die Portionsgröße aufführen.
Bei der Fleischwürze könnte man gern noch né Nummer aufdrehen, denn sonst bleibt da Fleisch hinter den sonstigen Zutaten geschmacklich etwas zurück, und die Größe des Burritos schickt wohl kaum Jemanden ins Food Coma. Aber für Beides gibt es Abhilfe: Der vegetarische Burrito strotzt nur so vor Geschmack und ist absolut empfehlenswert (für Liebhaber von mexikanische Küche empfehle ich unbedingt die grüné Habanero Sauce, egal zu welchem Gericht!), und bei der Portionsgröße empfehle ich, einfach mal wieder ein bisschen mehr Zeit zum Kauen nehmen, und schon tritt der gewünschte Sättigseffekt ein (denn es sind zwar keine Riesen Portionen, aber auch keine Mini Burritos).
Ich habe auf jeden Fall meinen go-​to-​Mexikaner in München gefunden und gehe jedes Mal glücklich von dort wieder weg.

In dieser doch nicht wirklich schönen Gegend aus meiner Sicht ein echter Geheimtipp, wenn man am Hauptbahnhof Hunger verspürt.
Kurz gesagt gibt es vegetarisch, Steak oder Hähnchenfleisch in unterschiedlichen Essvarianten. Die einfache Variante sollte allerdings ausfallen, weil es mit Salat und allen Saucen einfach noch besser schmeckt. Das klassische Strohwittwermenu (Bier und was zu Essen wo man kein Besteck braucht) bleibt unter 10 € und macht auch anständig satt.
Das Personal habe ich bis jetzt immer nur freundlich erlebt und eigentlich ist mir immer zu wenig los (nicht das es den Laden irgendwann mal nicht mehr gibt: D) eigentlich sollte man öfter am Hauptbahnhof Hunger haben.

Ich war zufällig hier weil ich eigentlich zu der Apotheke nebendran wollte.
Die Bedienung Monica ist super cool! Sie tat mir sehr leid da der Grill für meine Quesadila ihr die Sicherung raushaute, alles ewig dauerte und sie total gestresst war. Aber ich lernte beim Warten einen netten Gast kennen und bekam ein gratis Getränk als Entschädigung.
Die Salsa (aus gehackten Tomaten, keine Soße aus der Flasche!), Guacamole und Sauer Cream ist selbst gemacht. Ich habe anscheinend sogar das gleiche Guacamolen-​Rezept ;-) Meine schmeckt auch so! Also wer den Geschmack einer fertigen mit Geschmacksverstärkern will, bekommt die hier nicht. Die schmeckt ganz anders!
Die Quesadila super mit Chicken ist echt lecker! Auch die Einrichtung und Musik ist sehr stimmig zum Thema!
Empfehlenswert!!!

Portionen in Ordnung, geschmacklich Ok
aber nichts besonders. Mir hat das gewisse etwas gefehlt.

Bin nicht überzeugt: Lieblose, allenfalls als durchschnittlich zu bezeichnende Tacos und ein Service, bei dem man sich nicht willkommen sondern abgefertigt fühlt. Dazu noch der morbide, heruntergekommene Charme der Räume Schade, hätte Potenzial!

What a find! Owner is American so this is «a little of this, double of that, add that sauce» no worries kind of place! Just like home, have it your way (you may find European restaurants aren’t big on substitutions or variations). They have homemade salsa, and some good hot sauces available. Came out with a SPICY burrito with all the likings :) Cute atmosphere (carry out type) and patio outside when it’s nice out. Corona with a lime? Yes please!

The burrito with chicken was terribly mediocre. It was no wrapped properly and the ingredients were not evenly distributed all the guacamole was at the bottom The chicken was also hacked to pieces, improperly seasoned and simply too dry. The only positive thing I can say about this place, unfortunately, is that there was no line. It was also more expensive than other competing burrito restaurants in Munich. I can only recommend to avoid, at this point.

Alles in allem ein leckerer Imbiss. Und auf jeden Fall mal
was anderes! Die Quesadillas waren wirklich knusprig und gut. Das Burrito war
mir bissl zu weich und matschig. Es war doch sehr viel, sehr saftige Füllung
für den dünnen Weizenfladen. Aber vielleicht gehörts ja gerade so? Andere
Tex-​Mex Läden machen das zwar anders, aber ich kann nicht beurteilen, wer
authentischer ist Mir hat allerdings so ein bisschen der letzte
Pfiff gefehlt. Irgendwie hab ich alles ein bisschen würziger und vor
allem viel schärfer erwartet. Die Atmosphäre ist auch irgendwie ungewöhnlich. Viel Deko,
aber nicht so richtig stimmig, fand ich. Trotzdem werde ich sicher wieder hingehen und noch bisschen
was probieren ren.

Klassische Tacos und Buritos fürs schnelle Schlemmen.

So gut! Frisch, lecker, tolle Qualität und super nette Leute.
Preis-​Leistung stimmt!
Am besten schmecken mir die Quesadillas.
Das einzige, was mir nicht gefällt ist die Lage und das (Schüler-​) Publikum mittags.

If you’re looking for good Mexican food in the downtown area of Munich, this is the place. It is a quick take out place in the best traditions of fast Mexican food. The owner spent years in San Francisco which exposed her to quality Mexican food. I had the Street Tacos, which were delicious.
The chips were not what we would expect in California, but they are better than you get most places in Germany. Even the guacamole, rice and beans were authentic. I will definitely seek this place out the next time I return to Munich.

Wir gehen öfter in der Mittagspause zum Taco libre und sind alle sehr begeistert. Die burritos und vor allem Quesadillas sind sehr lecker, die saucen gut und die Grösse der Portionen sind überdurchschnittlich ein hauch von Tex Mex in München Der Service ist gut und wenn man Glück hat gibt es Tecate Bier aus Mexiko insgesamt ein toller Schnellimbiss!

This is first taqueria style spot I’ve tried or even seen in
Deutschland. It’s not bad but a the portions are a bit skimpy and the
prices are a bit too high. I had the regular tacos. The server was
friendly and fairly flexible: she let me mix one corn and one flour
tortilla, and mix one chicken and one beef; although she did charge me
50-​cents for a tiny pinch of cheese. They have some Mexican beers and
hot sauces. I hope it’s a good start to something that becomes even
better.

I had a Burrito Regular Steak, and came in around noon. For a Burrito in Munich wow! For a Burrito I can only go ³⁄₅. My steak was super tough and seemed like it was grilled yesterday and served today. The hot sauce was awesome, as was the customer service. I’d steer clear of the Steak, other than that pretty damn good Burrito in Munich. I would recommend it. ;-)

This is a nice little taqueria, and so far, has the closest i’ve found to a San Francisco Mission burrito here in Munich. The menu is small, as a taqueria’s should be – burritos, tacos, and quesadillas only.
the burrito is huge, and I’d recommend asking for less rice and a little more beans than the default. I’d also skip the cheese/​sour cream route (and DEFINITELY skip the lettuce, which does not belong on a burrito!) and go for the classic meat/​bean/​rice burrito. The pinto beans were great — perfect texture. The friendly guy behind the counter offered spicy salsa on the burrito, and I’d definitely recommend asking for it if he is busy and doesn’t offer it. It’s a nice heat level, not too ‘scharf.’
I have to knock points off for the chips — a small handful of chips comes with each dish, but they were a disappointment and not worth the calories. (sometimes the best thing at a taqueria is CHIPS, if freshly deep-​fried from yesterday’s corn tortillas and scattered with enough salt when they’re hot out of the fryer so there’s an extra crystalline crunch. these were from a bag. sigh.).
if you’re near Hauptbahnhof, you’re pretty hungry, and you’ve been a bit wistful for a real burrito and the doner durum isn’t filling that niche for you — then give this place a try for sure.

Ich kann den Super Burrito mit Huhn empfehlen. Leckere Zutaten, allerdings könnte das Essen wärmer sein. Ok, da kommen nun mal auch kalte Sachen rein in den Burrito. Trotzdem bekommt man ihn anderswo wärmer.

Mein Kollege und ich überlegten uns zum Mittagessen zu TACO*LIBRE zu gehen, bereits in der Woche davor aßen wir dort je einen Burrito und waren restlos begeistert.
Das liebevoll dekorierte Lokal wirkt recht klein, wobei es im Keller noch mehr Platz gibt, so dass hier wirklich jeder einen Sitzplatz bekommt. Kitschige mexikanische Nippes und saisonale Deko bestimmen das Flair und machen die Räume irgendwie kuschelig.

Mittags tummelt sich gemischtes Publikum, Geschäftsleute, junge Leute und auch einige Touristen aus südlicheren Ländern.

Die Ladeninhaberin und ihre Kolleginnen/​Kollegen sind immer total freundlich und gehen auf jeden Gast individuell ein.
Bestellt und bezahlt wird an der Theke.

Die aktuelle Speisekarte mit Preisen findet man immer auf der Homepage von TACO*LIBRE, so dass man sich bereits vor dem Besuch schon ein paar Gedanken machen kann, was man denn essen und trinken möchte.

Den Einstiegs-​Burrito (Regular) gibt es bereits ab 5,50 € und wahlweise mit Steak oder Chicken. Ich hatte bisher an beiden Tagen jeweils einen Burrito Deluxe mit Chicken und muss sagen, dass ich selten so etwas leckeres gegessen habe! Auch die Tacos meines Kollegen (er nahm Original Street Tacos mit Steak) rissen ihn wirklich vom Hocker, auch er war hin und weg.

FAZIT:
Einen, zwei oder mehrere Besuche im TACO*LIBRE in München muss man empfehlen! Ein (noch) echter Geheimtip! Ich bereue keinen einzigen Burrito!

Went to this place yesterday for the first time. It did feel a little Chipotle like which is a GREAT thing. I had the taco’s and my husband had the burrito. Everything was so tasty, fresh and actual felt a little heat in the hot sauces and pico de gallo. The owner was there and very friendly and pleasant. She suggested we sit and had have a beer and margarita to celebrate Cinco De Mayo which only added to the experience. Definitely will be going back very soon.

Das beste mexikanische Fastfood in München, auch das einzige. Und einer der besten Mexikaner.
Das Essen ist kein TexMex — also in fetten Käse schwimmende Tacos, mit Hackfleisch gefüllte Burritos, dazu noch jede Menge Tabasco das man die schlechte Qualität nicht schmeckt und zum Sattwerden Chickenwings.
Ich möchte nicht sagen das es wirklich original superauthentisch mexikanisch ist — da kenne ich mich nicht aus — aber jeder der jemals in Californien mexikanisch gegessen hat und diese Qualität in München bis jetzt nicht gefunden hat wird hier das finden was er jahrelang gesucht hat.
Das ganze gibt’s dann auch noch in einer schönen warmen Athmosphäre, mit frischen Zutaten vor den Augen zubereitet.

OK. I tried it and can say it’s better than 99% of the ‘Mexican’ here in Munich. It’ slightly more hip than a taqueria, but not as snooty as Enchiladas or Sausalitos. (Both of which are more crappy Tex-​Mex than real Mexican IMHO…)
Anyhow, 2 people and quite a bit of food later we got out for 25 euros. More than expected, but we did eat quite a bit.
Burritos: Good ++ Can’t say excellent, but damn good for the price and for being in Munich.
Street Tacos: Very Good +++ Damn near SF/​LA quality. Not exactly Carne Asada, but close enough to satisfy this nit-​picker.
All-​in-​all a good stop in for a quick bite. Better than the ever-​present Döner and tastier too, I strongly recommend this place before it goes away. I hope it sticks around a long time.

I ate lunch at Wahaka today and can safely say that I’ll be back. It’s fresh, friendly and very tasty. You walk in, choose your meal and then you have a choice of meats, beans (refried or black) and sauces.
The woman running the place and her staff are super friendly and helpful as well as quite interested in knowing whether you are happy or not.
Like I said… I’ll be back.

Great fast tacos! Good prices and friendly service! The first fast food Mexican in Munich and just about the only Mexican open for lunch! Good homemade salsa, pico beans (pinto and black) and great guacamole. I’ll be back often!

Nachtrag: Wahaka heisst jetzt TACO LIBRE, aber dass schmeckt immer noch bestens! Auch ansonsten ist alles gleichgeblieben… Ich finds immer noch top!
Genau das was ich schon sooo lange gesucht habe in München. Eine authentische Mexikanische Taqueria mitten in München. Gute Preise. Guter Service und einfach richtige leckere Burritos, Quesadillias und Nachos. Einfach Lecker. Den Laden gibt es wohl noch nicht so lange. Also noch ein Geheimtipp!
