Oh, meine kleine Huettenwirt. Often the starting point and ending point of a successful night out in Munich. This is the essence of what I love about Munich’s many tiny establishments. Friendly people, good cheap drinks, tasty treats and that classic Bavarian gemütlichkeit. For anyone who finds themselves along this little stretch of Bogenhausen, there’s not a lot of watering holes. And maybe that’s for a reason. The friendly young lady that serves you speaks little to no English, but she’s more than happy to teach you a Deutsche wort or zwei to keep the conversation going. My only knock is that they don’t have a fireplace to keep your bones warm during the winter. The good news is the tiny cottage like interior retains the warmth enough that just one more Augustiner sounds like a pretty good idea.
