Co Be Restaurant

It’s a gorgeous little (well not so little) Vietnamese local. A friend of ours mentioned this was good and I have passed by it numerous times but never stopped in. Today we decided to pop in for lunch. It’s a cheap and cheerful place with an extensive menu and decent food.
I chose to have a rice noodle soup with beef for lunch and it was a decent portion in a nice spicy broth. It wasn’t so spicy but has a nice flavour. The meat was tender and the noodles were cooked just right.
The ladies who run the place were very friendly and welcoming and the food arrived pretty quickly after the order. I will come back and try some of their seafood dishes one evening, as they have a good selection of fish on the menu.
All in all a reasonable lunch which was tasty in a simple surrounding. Good value for money and good service.

Tolles Lokal, nette Bedienung. Hier kann man in netter Atmosphäre gut sitzen und das gute Essen genießen.
Tipp: vietnamesische Glücksrollen zum selber drehen.

Kleines vietnamesisches Restaurant in der Kurfürstenstr., gleich ums Eck bei der Franz-​Joseph-​Straße. Überzeugt durch die Preise und eine fast familiäre Atmosphäre, aber auch eine abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte: Bei den Vorspeisen warten verschiedenen Spießchen oder Rollen z.B. mit Garnelen oder Makrelen, die mit Minze oder Koriander aufgepeppt werden. Bei den Hauptspeisen klassische vietnamesische Gerichte mit Gemüse, Fisch, Fleisch und Geflügel. Ich bin ein Fan der Entenbrust — unbedingt mal testen.

Sehr leckeres authentisches Viet-​Food. Preis ist okay. Mittags eine gute Alternative.
Ambiente nicht so schön, aber Essen top.

Kleiner Vietnamese, mit sehr prompter Bedienung, da gehts wirklich zackig schnell in der Mittagspause.
Kleine Räumlichkeiten, aber es gibt hinten ein Nebenzimmer. Gebrateres Tofu wird hier in einer etwas weniger knuspriger Variante, jedoch in reichlicher Menge serviert. Preiswert und inklusive einem sehr schmackhaftem Salat vorab.

Top! Kleiner, sehr gemütlicher und gut besuchter Vietnamese. Fantastisches Entencurry, zusammen mit der bereit stehenden Chili-​Sauce auch ordentlich scharf, sympathischer und freundlicher Service sowie sehr faire Preise. Gerne bald wieder!

Einfach Super, bin rundum zufrieden

wir waren das erste Mal vietnamesisch essen. Uns hat es allen 4 sehr gut geschmeckt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der feine Koriandergeschmack. Die vegetarischen Gerichte waren ausgezeichnet ganz lieb die zuvorkommende Beratung bzgl. evlt. Laktose– oder Glutenunverträglichkeit. überhaupt möchte ich die sehr herzliche Bedienung erwähnen. jederzeit wieder !

Ich gehe schon seit einem Jahr regelmäßig ins Cô Bé! Es ist immer lecker und die Kellnerin wußte auch nach Monaten noch, was ich immer gegessen habe! Es stimmt, die Preise wurden erhöht. Ist trotzdem noch im Rahmen! Einzig allein das Ambiente hat ein wenig Bistro-​Charakter! Sonst alles top!

It’s the second day after the end of the Wiesn, and I’m in a bad way. Everything is grey, and the last sparks of my life are escaping via cough, leaving scratchy trails of pain behind in my throat. I need to reconstitute. I need nutrition. I need hydration. I need food that doesn’t taste like beer or frying oil. And I need this within the span of a lunch break. The prescription: Vietnamese food.
Both Co Be and Anh Thu were approximately a 10 minute walk from me, but not wanting to add finanical illiquidity to my litany of post-​Wiesn woes, I opted for Co Be. It was a good decision. Indeed, the garish, yellow sign makes this place look from the outside like a Brazilian kiosk selling cigarettes and Joe Bu dolls. But the inside is rather nicely appointed. The service greeted me pleasantly, and I never felt myself waiting endlessly for anything I needed/​wanted.
I ordered the bo ot ax from the midday menu (beef with vegetables with an allegedly spicy sauce), selected the salad from my choice of salad or spring rolls for side dish, and ordered a whole pot of ginger tea as well. Grand total was € 10. Not bad for Schwabing. Not bad for a whole pot of tea.
The food itself is good here, but, like most all Asian food in Germany, doesn’t wow me. It’s just not as spicy and brightly flavoured as one finds elsewhere. But that is more the result of adapting to the German palate, which is notoriously finicky and incompatible with spice, and this is therefore to be expected. Only the ginger tea failed to meet expectations. They don’t brew it in advance, so either you have to let it steep for the duration of your meal, or allow only the last cup or two to really be of full strength. That said, this meal met my expectations for this price range in Germany, and I will probably come here again during the midday for lunch again.
Thing is, the experience here just needs to be refined. All the bases have been covered well enough for me to come here by myself for lunch, but not well enough that I’d show this restaurant off.
Example #1: The service gave a friendly greeting (good!), but then pointed me over the shoulder to a table behind her (eh…could have been more professionally executed).
Example #2: Nice, sleek décor with white table cloths (good!), but sauce stains on the table cloth for my table (eh…couldn’t that have been changed before this table was made available?)
Conclusion: I’ll come here again, perhaps someday even with a colleague, but I’m not raving about this place or particularly recommending it.

Super leckeres Essen waren jetzt 2mal dort und jedes Mal sehr zufrieden. Nur das Preisniveau ist mMn etwas zu hoch!

Der Vietnamese Co Be wirktvon außen wirklich etwas klein und unscheinhaft. Er versteckt sich ähnlich wie der benachbarte Kiosk etwas in dem Häuserblock. Aber von dem unscheinbaren Äußeren sollte man sich doch nicht etwa täuschen lassen. Denn wie sagt man doch so schön: Klein aber oho!
Das trifft auf jeden Fall für die Preise, für das Ambiente und für die netten Bedienungen zu. Denn diese Faktoren haben mir den Aufenthalt schon etwas versüßt.
Das soll auch auf das Essen zutreffen. Laut Bekannten jedenfalls. Vielleicht hatte ich an jenem Tag etwas Pech, aber meine Nudeln waren irgendwie fad und haben nach nicht viel geschmeckt. Das hat mich dann schon etwas enttäuscht
Ich würde aber nicht so weit gehen und sagen, dass ich dem Có Be keine zweite Chance geben würde, denn vielleicht habe ich ja echt nur einen schlechten Tag erwischt.

An einem regnerischen Tag wollte ich die Gastronomieempfehlung einer Freundin nachgehen und das Restaurant Co Be besuchen, dass vietnamesische Gerichte zu günstigen Preisen anbietet. Ein langer Fußweg von der U-​Bahn Station zum Restaurant haben sich dennoch gelohnt. Von außen wirkt das Restaurant sehr unspektakulär und lässt auf keine außergewöhnliche Einrichtung hoffen. Aber weit gefehlt: das Restaurant ist elegant und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Ein Hauch aus Rot und Weiß bedecken die Tische. Jeder Tisch wurde mit gelben und roten Rosen geschmückt und die ruhige, sanfte Musik im Hintergrund lassen darauf schließen, dass das Restaurant für verliebte Pärchen eröffnet wurde. Ich habe Bun Bo Hue, eine vietnamesische Nudelsuppenspezialität aus Vietnam bestellt. Die Wartezeit wurde mir mit einem Glas Branntwein schmackhaft gemacht. Welches Restaurant bereitet dem Gast schon so ein kostenloses Geschenk?
Die Nudelsuppe hat außergewöhnlich gut geschmeckt: nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig in der Menge. Man merkt, dass hier echt Könner am Werk sind. Als ich mit dem Essen fertig war, wurde mir mit einem Stück Honigmelone noch beschenkt. Für die kleine Bestellung, die ich beordert hatte, konnte man angesichts der Gastfreundschaft sich schon fast schämen. Hier geh ich auf jeden Fall nochmal hin. Denn die Mischung aus Service und Küche war großartig.
