My husband and I go here for the buffet and leave stuffed and happy! The only Chinese restaurant around these parts that we truly like enough to keep returning to. The buffet has everything you would expect from a selection of noodles and meat dishes to ice cream and fresh fruit! Oh and don’t forget the Mongolian grill that has a great variety of meats, seafood, and veggies.

Other people may like monosodium glutamate in their food, but then again, some people are just dumb, don’t pay attention and will eat anything. It’s in every fuckin’ thing that is not cold. Here’s a tip: if you need a «flavor enhancer» in your food then YOU’REDOINGITWRONG! Zimtblüte doesn’t use MSG in their food. Know why??? It’s because they know how to make the basics taste great. Also, the floors give at off a stale smell of failure. Yet that would cost money to clean and the Chinese(from China, not San Francisco) are typically cheap, angry and don’t care anyway.

We’ve been here a few times for the buffet and a ordered la carte. With the buffet, they have enough varied selections plus a Mongolian grill so you could find things to eat that fit your pallet. The buffet and barbeque runs £13.90 for dinner and less for lunch. They do bang you out for drinks with still water clocking in at £2.2/bottle and bitter lemon at £3.3. If I recall correctly, the bitter lemon was actually Sprite. I wasn’t overly impressed with the taste of their version of General Tso’s chicken when I ordered it a la carte but it wasn’t bad and a generous portion.

After trying a few other Chinese restaurants in Germany, we FINALLY found this gem! THEY had an excellent looking buffet, and offered General Tso’s Chicken! It is the closest to «American» Chinese we have found. Great and quick service too. We will definitely be back!!!

My boyfriend got to know the owner fairly well, so he has been talking about this place even before I came to Germany. So I decided to give it a try yesterday. Several things. 1. It was Sunday evening. I get it. You don’t want to be making a lot of food to keep the buffet going when you have about 20 people total in a restaurant. BUT… if there were more than one person eating buffet, you better make sure to keep the food going. After the first round, there wasn’t barely anything left. I felt sorry for the others that were also getting buffet. Even Mongolian BBQ noodles and rice were almost gone(as in I could count how many noodles were left on a plate). When I was done eating, I went to go get some ice cream. My boyfriend said the vanilla one is really good. But they only had two cups of strawberry left, which tastes like the cheapest strawberry ice cream you get in a grocery store in the States. Eww. He suggested that I should ask for the vanilla one. But I decided not to, because there was a guy who was putting out a plate of fruits who saw me wondering and looking around and see if I could get another flavor. But he didn’t even bother to ask if I wanted something else. It wouldn’t have happened in the States, or in China. It wouldn’t have happened anywhere. 2. I also understand that we sat all the way in the end. BUT, you have a customer, you make sure that every needs were taken care of. We waited for 20 plus minutes before we walked out and paid. No «do you need anything?» or «can I get you something?» from a waitress. 3. Christmas décor. Seriously? It’s July. Take the old and seasonally wrong décor out. One of the ceiling lights was all broken. 4. The food was super salty. I have lived in Asia. Duh, I’m Asian. I’ve eaten food in China, and also I have eaten Americanized Chinese food. No, it shouldn’t be this salty. Not at all. I thought of giving a benefit of doubt by saying it must be German Chinese food. No they are not, according to my boyfriend who’s had German Chinese food, though I doubt there is a such thing as German Chinese food. General Tso was NOTGT. Sweet and sour pork was delicious, though chicken was horrible. Crispy duck was good, but sesame fish should have been named salty fish. Sesame balls do not have the red bean paste filling which is the norm. If you are not going to have a fresh bar of sushi, do not put out 5 – 6 sushi. Just get rid of sushi from the buffet menu. I much rather have something else. 5. Translation issues. I get it. Germans call their shrimps prawns no matter what size they are. But if you are going to put English translation to «serve» the military community which is located less than 300 yards, then make sure to actually«serve» the English speaking community. You should never translate«literally.» NEVER. 6. It’s your restaurant. You should never be seen eating a burger inside your own restaurant, specially right next to the buffet table. Everyone can see you. It says that you don’t even like the food you are selling. No you should never do that. This place has a great potential. The owner seems to be courteous, though he was distant to most of his customers. The wait staff were nice, though they never really check on you. I probably won’t return to this place unless this is the only Chinese restaurant in Kaiserslautern. Then I would cook my own.

Delicious nasi goreng! A bit on the expensive side, but the food was well worth it. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is very friendly. My kids loved the buffet and ate large amounts. My husband and I both ordered from the menu and had to bring our leftovers home there was so much.

This place does most things right. I’ve been here on a couple of occasions, and the food is tasty. They have everything from sweet-n-sour pork to sesame chicken to crispy duck. They also have sweet tea with plenty of ice and free refills. One thing they don’t have, though, is any kind of dessert selection — no cookies… no pudding… nothing. Why do I mention this? Because at the price you pay for dinner, you would think they would get with the program. For the buffet and a drink, I shelled out 17 Euro. Bah.

The worst part of this restaurant is the price. The best part of this restaurant is literally everything else. At the higher-end of moderate, I’m always left with a full stomach and generally positive experience with how great the place is. I’m extremely fond of the crispy fried duck. My only complain seems to be that the Mongolian Grill also offered is included in the price of the buffet. I want to say it’s their fault for charging me for something I’m not using, then again, it’s my fault for going somewhere fully knowledgeable of their menu and not going elsewhere. I’ve had little interaction with their staff outside of seating and paying the bill, but they’re always very friendly and helpful. It’s also a great lunch option for anyone in the Vogelweh/ROB/Kapaun area. Pretty much a slam-dunk.

I really enjoyed the Bambusgarten, the duck was great all time favorite. the Mongolian Bar was great as well, fresh vegetable and tender meat. I really enjoy the ice tea as well. Those fried bananas was superb. I always said the European style Chinese is the best. YOu have to try this place. Delicious.

Bambusgarten is a great Chinese restaurant with a casual/classy feel that offers delicious food at very reasonable prices. The wait staff are very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The restaurant is right outside a military base, so it caters a lot to Americans for lunch but has mixed patronage in the evenings. The food itself s delicious, everything I’ve ever ordered has been fresh, made with high quality ingredients, and has had a wonderful flavor. They have a very large variety of foods, have a full buffet if thats more your style, and also have menu specials at certain times of the day, mostly at lunch and early evening. It’s a relatively spacious place so it would be good for groups or mid-sized events like a birthday or going away party.

Being away from home and craving Chinese food, this place was our go to spot. Husband is Chinese and in-laws own a Chinese resto in LA, so the fact that hubby chose to come here spoke volumes on the quality of food. We love the duck with plum sauce on a bed of string beans and chicken chow mein. We tried the buffet once or twice and the Mongolian Grill too, all good. Will go back here if we get stationed at Ramstein again *fingers crossed*

As it would take so much for a true 5 star rating, this place is a good 4. It most likely helped going there as soon as the buffet opened though. Food was really freah and tasty and whenever you get service witha smile it helps! As any place can have a «bad» day, that wasnt happening today here.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be Ghengis Khan? What it would be like to terrorize the Chinese so harshly that they build one of the worlds greatest monuments JUST to keep you out? If so, BambusGarten will satisfy you for years to come! The food offered tastes top notch, with choices such as General Tso’s chicken and curry-fried rice. Served buffet style, so as much as you can eat is as much as you can eat! There are also special dishes not available in the buffet that you can order up, such as lobster and specially-prepared cuts of beef and pork. The full-sensory titillation doesn’t end there: bambusgarten sports a super-spectacular Mongolian Grill! Similar to the buffet: You pile food on a plate, with different options of meats and veggies. Take it to the grillmaster, get it grilled it right up for you and BOOMGOESTHEDYNAMITE you have a bowl full of Mongolian Grilled goodness! The best part? The Mongolian Grill is included in the price of a single buffet admission! The only thing holding this place back is the food selection: Very typical of chinese fare, with nothing you probably haven’t already had before. However, it’s all prepared well, and the service is top notch. Make your day a Bambusgarten day!
