Not everyone of us leads the hipster-​lounging, bubbly-​sipping lifestyle of those lucky Lindeners, so here is my favourite local supermarket.
Netto (f.k.a. Plus) has almost everything you need, except Rooster Brand Sweet Chili Sauce, and a good mix of own labels, major brands and organic (BioBio). Netto sells local produce including Herrenhäuser Bier (in glass bottles). Unlike certain other discount supermarkets in the vicinity (cough… Penny Sallstraße… cough…), the clientele is sober, clean and friendly. And unlike certain upmarket shops in the vicinity (cough… Rewe…), the staff is cheerful and efficient. I have never experienced long queues, even on a saturday.
