Otto’s Burger

Fantastic hipster style burger place, food is spot on, excellent, had the truffle burger and actually thinking of. Coming back tomorrow already, simple concept with great burger selection in a no frills environment

Eh. It takes a lot to win me over when it comes to a burger. I come from the land of In-​N-​Out and, well, of burgers.
First off, I have to say I took my burger to go, which does have an effect on the taste/​presentation of the meal. The burger was messy. Too much sauce, causing the bread or meat to slip out when trying to bite the burger.
No. I will not eat a burger with a fork and knife. That’s just not right. You can go to a star restaurant, order the Angus burger and still eat it with your hands. So eating it was hard, which also made it difficult to get an overall taste from the burger with all parts in play.
Meat was done well. Cheese also tasted good.
One more minus point– it took a solid 20 minutes to «receive» the burger. I did not order a special burger, just the cheeseburger with everything it normally comes with. 20 minutes was a bit long, also seeing that the restaurant was not very full.
I will try Otto’s again, ask for less sauce and maybe a fresher piece of lettuce.
Until then I will continue dreaming about In-​N-​Out.

Part of the better burger-​movement it seems. Accordingly true to the concept in terms of menu, food and atmosphere. If your are in the mood for some burgers this is not a bad option.

Good burgers though no vegan burgers (but veggie burgers). The also serve craft beer. If you happen to be in St. Georg and want a burger: go there.

From the point of view of an American the burger was ok. The patty was too small for the bun and too little lettuce (toppings). The coleslaw, nothing special.
The ambience basic and cool, not as pretentious as a ‘Hans im Glück’ and for that 5 stars for the basic, solid design.
Great place for a quick snack but not a dinner. Germans being rather weak in interior design and ambience I really appreciate the feel and vibe of Otto’s restaurant. Being a fan of Hatari Burgers (bigger but not as big patties) I hope Otto improves the size and quality of their food to make the place brilliant and a real niche in Hamburg! Keep going, Grindl will be next.

It stands up to its reputation as the best hamburger place in Hamburg.
They play excellent music, the staff are super friendly… and the hamburger… just while typing this my mouth is watering. The flavor… really prefect.
Their selection is small and enough to tell you they are authentic. They offer Frltz cola on top of it all… we are hooked.

Burger was ok but really small. Fries were totally oversalted. They have very few seating options so it is better to avoid the busy times around lunch and dinner.

Ok, this will be an easy review. I have finally found the best place for burgers in hamburg. Reasons for this bold statement of mine:
1)It has a limited selection of burgers which tells me that they do them so well there’s no need for more.
2) the staff is up for onion jokes.
3) classic cheeseburger is made of 100% organic beef.
4) you got two options what to take with your burger: fries or coleslaw. As simple as that.
5) they serve fritz kola and ratsherren
6) the burger tastes so damn good, you won’t get enough of it. I was considering eating a second one. But then again, there is only so much spanx can do.
7) moderately priced. Payed 9 – 10 € for cheeseburger, drink and coleslaw.
8) cute plates. sharp knifes that allow me to eat like a lady (sometimes I need to start my weekend classy)
9) location: it’s pretty easy to reach. Stylish and clean place with seatings outside that allows hobbies like people watching or smoking.
10) the name. Do I have to say any more?
I’m hooked, and I hope everyone else tries this place ASAP. Yep I used ASAP in my review.

Was there yesterday with my wife and I really can’t understand some of the other reviews here. We had the Chorizo burger and Manchotto (spelling?) burger. I had the fries plus mayo and my wife the fries and ketchup. This is more an imbiss than a restaurant and we found the deco quite stylish for what it is. On warm days, the outdoor seating is a pleasant addition and you can enjoy the people watching as tons stream by. Now the most important part is the burgers. We both found them to be top-​notch. I really enjoyed the Chorizo burger and found that it was a perfect mix of tastes. My wife raved about the Manchotto just as much. I also found the fries to be very good and the mayo (with a smoky flavour to it) was an awesome addition. Finally, service was super nice and the guy behind the grill even came over to ask how we liked the burgers. Very attentive and well received. This is not a «classy» place but a solid burger joint which gets the necessary components just right in my opinion. Thankfully my office is quite nearby and my colleagues and I will be here more often. Many of them have already discovered this place and have made it a regular lunch option. It’s worth it to come check this place out if you are aching for a burger… as we were yesterday evening.
