Virgin

When you’re at the airport, and you’re bored before your flight, what do you do? You wander around the stores and spend money that you probably shouldn’t spend. I wanted to get a bottle water, and a book just incase the inflight entertainment on my transatlantic flight back to Calgary didn’t work. Knowing my luck if I’m not prepared with a book that’s what would happen and the other book I had with me I was almost finished.
So I bought a bottle of flavoured water because for some reason it was cheaper than regular water. I also bought Pride & Prejudice because I’ve wanted to read that book for a while, even though I could check it out from my local library for free.
The total was 9 euros, and the book was only 5 euros, so that’s a really pricey bottle of water. I should have brought an empty bottle of water to fill up at the fountains after security instead.
The guy working at the checkout seemed to be a pretty pissy mood and was coughing, so maybe he was just sick and grumpy. Definitely not a good first impression of this store.
On the plus side when I was there they had on a song from Billy Talent, a Canadian punk-​rock band I didn’t think was known outside of Canada. It reminded of home and was nice to hear. So the music in the store is good, but the prices are way too high and the staff aren’t that great. Try not to spend your money at the airport. Unless you have a ton of change you want to get rid of or you just don’t care.

Ich weiß, Virgin ist eigentlich eine Kette und trotzdem gibt es sie in Deutschland eigentlich nicht so sonderlich oft. Ich meine, ich muss extra zum Flughafen fahren, um einen Virgin Store in Frankfurt zu finden.
Dabei ist Vigin doch der Musikladen schlecht hin! Bei Virgin habe ich zum Beispiel meine erste CD von den All American Rejects gekauft, lange bevor amerikanischer Highschool Punk bei uns so in wurde. Denn bei Virgin findet man nun einmal all diese halbberühmten Independent Bands aus den Staaten, die in ein paar Jahren in Europa höchstwahrscheinlich voll einschlagen werden. Tja, ich bin gerne mal meiner Zeit vorraus.

Ich war auf dem Weg in den Urlaub und war voll Vorfreude auf Sonne, Strand und Meer, leider auch ein wenig zu aufgeregt, dass ich meine Digital Kamera daheim vergessen hatte. Und das geht natürlich überhaupt nicht, ein Traumurlaub ohne Dokumentation? Nein, unter gar keinen Umständen. Deswegen gab es nur eine Möglichkeit, ich musste mir eine neue kaufen. Ich bin dann, direkt in den Media Store und wurde wohl noch nie so unfreundlich behandelt. Hätte ich die Wahl gehabt hätte ich den Laden sofort verlassen.
