This was our first visit back to Duesseldorf in years and we decided to stay in town rather than our usual hotel on the north side of the city. What a nice surprise! Reasonably priced, very well located — within steps of the Altstadt, Rheinpromenade and Koenigsallee. Did I mention the friendly reception, excellent breakfast/service included and clean, well appointed rooms? It had all this and more. For instance, a hotel bar that was well stocked, with a knowledgeable mix master and a lobby/seating area well laid out for chats with friends and business associates. A couple of notes to summer travelers: no A/C, the windows open or tilt in European fashion and you have a large fan in the room, it will do the job on most days; you may want to ask for a room away from the main street, as it gets a tad loud at night. Another thing to consider: the bathroom, while immaculately clean, does not have wash cloths and bar soaps. The liquid products, in wall dispensers are of very good quality though, no problem here. All in all a very nice boutique hotel, a definite keeper in our inventory.
