A nice small grocery store. For me, it’s super convenient being just one block off the campus I’m working at. The store has everything you’d expect — some fresh produce, a full grocery selection and a large wine/​liquor area. Somewhat surprising (for me at least) was a good sized butcher & deli counter.
Prices were really reasonable — I purchased a few .5L bottles of mineral water, an enormous pear, some lunchmeat and a roll for less than € 5. The mineral waters were .19 each… super cheap!
Staff seemed pleasant, with lots of conversation to customers. Who knows, since I can’t really understand much German maybe they were making fun of the dumb American who was overly thrilled by cheap mineral water. (You’ve got to understand — a small bottle of San Pelligrino is like $ 1.50 at home!)
So — when I’m in the area this is my home base for sundries, Kinder bars, and yes — really cheap fizzy water.
