Das Nichtraucherhotel Privat

I really wanted to give this hotel 5 stars. They have excellent customer service. I found them extremely friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was quite good and my room was nice. I liked the location too which is on a relatively quiet street outside of the city center.
BUT…I found their wireless Internet to be frustratingly slow and, at times, barely useable. I’m not talking about downloading movies! I’m talking about accessing websites like Airbnb or VRBO – both of which I had trouble loading. I finally did access the sites after a lot of frustration but it took me a couple of hours for something which would have taken a half an hour with decent broadband. Also, I have four devices that access the Net – an iPad, a Kindle and 2 iPhones (the older one is unlocked so I can use SIM cards in Europe). In order to get online, I needed different passwords for each device which I had to go to the front desk to get. These would time out periodically, forcing me to enter them again. At first, I didn’t keep track of which device used which password. They kindly issued new passwords and then I started keeping track.
Suffice it to say that if fast and reliable Internet is something you need, this is NOT the place for you. Especially if you need to upload anything! The download speed was a little over 1 Megabit but the upload speed was a minuscule 0.05 Megabits! Forget about uploading your photos to the cloud (as I was hoping to do).
If the Internet is not important to you I encourage to check this place out. Apart from my frustrations online, I really enjoyed my stay! Check out their «half board» option for dinner. You can get a great 3 course meal for less than $ 20!

Ein absolutes Kleinod: Nettes Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, ein empfehlenswertes Restaurant und dennoch günstige Preise. Wenn es noch in Laufnähe zur Innenstadt wäre, gäbe es von mir 5 Sterne.

Sehr nett und sauber. habe hier spontan für meine Eltern gebucht und die waren mehr als zufrieden.

Zum zweiten Mal dort gewesen fuer eine Woche, haben uns trotz der Umbaumassnahmen fuer das neue Restaurant sehr wohl gefuehlt. Freundliche Rezeption. Intenet gratis und ein preislich attraktives Menu. Lediglich das Fruehstueck koennte etwas zulegen.

Das Hotel ist toll gelegen! Schöné Villen, viel grün und sehr ruhig. Tram ist um die Ecke und die Altstadt nur 5 km entfernt. Auch gut mit Fahrrad erreichbar (Ausleihe möglich). Die Zimmer sind modern und sehr sauber — aber nicht individuell und gemütlich. Die Betten waren gut, da erleben wir oft etwas anderes. Internet (Kabel) gibt es gratis auf den Zimmern. Das Frühstück war Standard. Schade: die Freundlichkeit an der Rezeption ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das kostet den 5. Stern!
