La Toscana

We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. It is not only its food well prepared, but also hospitality and service you got. We had sea food pasta, pizza, some wine, etc. All very original and delicious. Had nice chat with owner who does not speak much English and owner’s daughter who speaks many languages. They are just such nice people with their passion on what they are doing.

I wanted to love this place because it’s so close to home and the service is so welcoming. I must admit that I wasn’t wowed as I expected.
Pros: abundant parking, superior service from the cutest, old, Italian man. a few good dishes
Carbonara Pasta: winnah winnah chicken dinnah! This dish was monstrous and delicious… the way I like it! My kids fought over this as they do many good things. Not terribly expensive either =)
Calamari rings: For 18 euros, this better be amazing! This came in a LARGE dish with LARGE rings. No marinara sauce, but it came with a nice lemon wedge and two generous pieces of bruschetta. You could easily share this with 4 adults.
Pizza with prosciutto: Generous helpings of prosciutto atop perfect cooked pizza bread (crispy crust).what’s not to love?
Cons: billion liters of second hand smoke, sits next door to a hookah lounge, a few not so good dishes…
Seafood risotto: This was basically rice mixed with seafood (mainly octopus, squid, tough shrimp and one large prawn. yes just one and that one was overcooked like the rest of the seafood. The sauce was mehhhh. For 12 euros, I wasn’t going to complain.
Bolognese Gnocchi: Another good sized dish… but the flavor was rather bland. The gnocchi didn’t have a satisfying, mushy bite to it. It was ok. not bad.
Soooo…come for the great service, their pastas, pizzas. If you have kids, let them play at the playground across the way until the food comes… good way to keep them away from the smoke. You can always eat inside as well. They take credit cards and they’re happy to pack up your leftovers, too. I’ll be back just cuz it’s the best service I’ve received in Germany thus far.

Absolutely loved it. Had to go out real late because friends were working. Was sad to see nothing was open late. But we came across this place and was just trying to grab a bite to eat. The staff was very helpful even though they didn’t speak English very well. Expected that sense we are in Germany and not America lol. Well we were just kinda expected okay Italian food like it was an everyday Italian place back home. We were very mistaken. Was some of the best Italian food I have ever had. Enjoyed every bite. Will definitely be coming back before I head home.

Bedienung freundlich aber mit der Familie mehr beschäftigt als mit dem eigentlichen Service ! Wir mussten nach Menagen Fragen, nach Parmesan und nach Brot !
bis zur Vorspeise verging eine Stunde!
allerdings hatte sich das warten gelohnt ! Suppen und Antipasti waren sehr lecker und alles frisch !
Hauptspeisen waren sehr lecker und alles kam gleichzeitig !
FAZIT: Essen super, Atmosphäre wie in Italien und Personal freundlich aber nicht arbeitsfreudig ;-)

Bin dort schon in meiner Jugend hingegangen und mir und meiner Familie gefällt’s immer noch sehr.
Zwar hat sich auch beim Ambiente (zumindest gefühlt) nichts getan (ein bisschen auffrischen könnte man schon mal was ;-)), aber man fühlt sich einfach wohl bei Carmello und das Essen seiner Frau ist lecker!
Auch praktisch: man kann auch zu sehr später Stunde dort noch etwas essen

Die besten Pizzen der Gegend! Das Ambiente ist Standard aber der Gewölbekeller reißt es raus. Carmello ist stets freundlich und kennt die meisten Gäste. Punktabzug gibt es für die Sanitären Anlagen. Das ist wirklich eine Zumutung.

I live nearby and am now well known by the owner. Have tried various dishes and have always had delicious food and the house red wine is great! My favorites are the Quattro Formaggio Rissotto or Rigatoni, the mushroom risotto, the Bolognese, Romeo& Guilietta pasta. I’ve also had the carbonara, cannelloni and lasagna, all good as well! But the Rissottos I dream about! The owner is the sweetest guy, great service and the after dinner shot is great too! Had the limoncello last time, yummy!

WHOAAA! Yes ONE star… I am serious. As noted in previous review it had been a while since we had been in to this establishment for an array of reasons. So, needless to say, I was super excited when we went back this past week… that was until the intense DECLINE in service and food standards happened. So, it was a decent day for weather but we still opted to eat inside this time. No problem… we were seated and menus brought to us… we ordered 2 chiantis and a cola for my son. So far so good! The owner came back to take our order… I am completely anticipating greatness all the way around at this point! So we order. I ordered a green salad with balsamic as the dressing, my husband the minestrone… mind you these are appetizers. Then I order the salmon tagliatelle, my husband orders the mushroom tagliatelle, and my son orders the tortellini alla panna. So, our orders are in and we are good to go… and that is when it goes completely down hill… A NOSE DIVE! First I get my salad and it is SWIMMING in Balsamic… I mean swimming… inedible!!! Gross… so I pick at it and wait for my husband to get his minestrone since they are appetizers. His doesn’t come but my son’s entrée does… no big deal there as he takes FOREVER to eat so he gets a head start! 10 minutes go by and my husband STILL does not have his appetizer… FINALLY after another 5 minutes he gets his soup. I have been done with my dressing with salad (sarcasm) for 15 minutes at this point. So he tastes it and immediately get a look of disappointment. So, I taste it and oh my word the amount of salt in that is enough to make someone choke to death. Just plain gross and too much! What a waste! So we are like… okay mistakes happen but our food will be great… that is if it ever comes. Twenty minutes go by and we are still waiting. We WATCH another group come in 15 minutes after us that ordered AFTER us receive their food (pizza and complex pasta dishes) and yet we still do not have ours. My glass of wine has long been empty as has my husbands… no refill here… can’t even grab someone to get said refill –_​-​. But needless to say the table beside us gets their refills of wine and beer. MY SON IS NOW DONE WITH HIS FOOD AND WE STILL HAVE NONE. We have been in the restaurant for 1.5 hours at this point. So, as I have other children heading home soon I need to get home. So, yep, you guessed it, we had to wave someone down to get our sit down order to go instead. What a horrible experience and we are extremely upset this happened. It was our go to Italian place but I WILL NEVER SET foot in there again. BTW… the dishes we brought home were not homemade. It smelled bad and tasted even worse. The salmon was NOT fresh and I actually got really sick from eating the small amount I could stomach. I don’t know what happened to this place but it is not the place we remember. So sad. Maybe they were having a really bad day with just being plain rude and mediocre food or what not… BUT I WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN TO FIND OUT.

Everything about this place is fabulous. The owner here is a delight to talk to.
Whether you go with a simple pasta primavera or their pizza, you cannot go wrong. The portions are great, the sauces are robust, and their products are fresh. Give this place a visit!

Uriges und gemütliches Ambiente. Leider sind die Pizzen nur Mittelklasse im Vergleich zu anderen Italienern in der Umgebung. Nudelgerichte auch nicht unbedingt Spitzenklasse.

Hocherfreut! Nach den Berichten hier im qype haben wir das Toscana aufgesucht, also erstmal runter in den Keller, beim Eingang kamen mir leider Zweifel, gut dass diese unbegründet waren.
Unten angekommen findet man ein nettes Ambiente vor, der Kellner begrüßt einen mit Handschlag und nimmt die Jacken ab. So muss das sein.
Essen und Trinken wirklich überzeugend. Was uns zu viel war, wurde uns nett eingepackt. Der offene Chianti war ok, die Preise sind auch in Ordnung. Meine Pizza kostete 9EUR, die Lachs Pasta 11EUR. Bruschetta 3EUR.
Zum Abschied gab es noch einen kostenlosen Ramazotti/​Espresso und auch wieder eine Verabschiedung per Handschlag. Es könnte so einfach sein. Wieso kriegen das so wenige Restaurants hin?

Wie einer meiner Vorbesucher sehr richtig bemerkte, ist das La Toscana in einem wenig einladenden, verwinkelten Keller im sog. Böblinger Künstlerviertel untergebracht. Die Möbel sind abgewetzt und und die Wandbemalung hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen, warum also hierhin gehen? Wegen der Gastfreundlichkeit des Wirtes Carmelo, der jeden Gast mit Handschlag begrüßt. Freundlichkeit, aufmerksamer Service und gutes Essen sind vom Niveau deutlich über dem Ambiente des Lokals angesiedelt. Schade. Hier könnte man mehr draus machen. Auch ein alter Spielautomat verbessert nicht den ersten Eindruck. Eine Renovierung ist dringend notwendig, darüber täuscht leider auch der Grappa vom Haus danach nicht hinweg.
Schade ein so freundlicher Gastwirt, zumal noch mit gutem Essen, hätte hier mehr Besucher verdient. Es waren nur drei Tische belegt.

This is the best Italian food that I have ever had in my life hands down. Okay, there was another place that I loved in NYC, but it’s been a long time since I have enjoyed some delicious Italian dishes. The pizza was to die for, the steak was heavenly, and the penne with shrimp & mushrooms in a rose sauce was out of this world. Add to that some red wine and tiramisu and ice cream for dessert and you end up with a perfect meal.
The staff was very friendly and I can’t recommend this place enough.

Gerichte immer frisch und lecker, echter italienischer Flair von einer freundlichen italienischen Familie gekocht und bedient. Der Chef des Hauses, Carmello, hält seit vielen Jahren seinen Gästen die Treue. Seit fast 20 Jahren mein Lieblingsitaliener im Kreis! Gemütlicher kleiner Keller, der immer stark besucht ist. Reservierungen möglich, aber immer ein paar Tage vorher. Besondere Wünsche erfüllt die Küche gerne, da weiß man dass hier frisch gekocht wird und so schmeckt es dann auch. –Mhhh, lecker! Leider ist das Restaurant nun in die Jahre gekommen und benötigt, wie ich finde, eine Renovierung.

We just went here for the first time but our friend who took us had been a regular several years back. What a GREAT experience. We were early (30 minutes before opening time) and had a large party (10 people) and they happily sat us. The owner was our main waiter and was super sweet to the children. The food was DELICIOUS! We had pizzas, pastas, a beef dish, lasagna, a cocktail shrimp appetizer, and scaloppini marsala. Every dish was a ton of food, hot, and fresh. We all shared and tasted each others dishes and they were all fabulous. I had, quite possibly, the best glass of house red wine ever. The hefeweizen was impressive, as well! We will be regulars here, for sure.

Tutto bene. Essen wir in Italien. Eigentlich schmeckt alles lecker. Muscheln unbedingt probieren! Man fühlt sich wie in der großen Familie. Um am Schluß bring Toni meistens noch einen Amaro. Immer wieder gerne.

Ganz leckere Pizza gibt es hier muss man gegessen haben

Mein Lieblingsitaliener der Gewölbekeller ist wahnsinnig romantisch und eignet sich hervorragend für Candle Light Dinners, am besten einen kleinen Tisch in einer Ecke reservieren, das ist immer klasse. Gesellige Abende zu Mehreren würde ich bei schönem Wetter eher für draussen empfehlen, ansonsten rechtzeitig reservieren.
Zum Essen kann man nur sagen: Absolut keine negativen Erfahrungen. Pizza, Pasta, Salate mit frischen Pizzabrötchen, Wein etc., alles frisch und lecker. Nach dem Essen gibt es meist einen Degistiv Einfach echt italienisch wie es sich gehört.
Uneingeschränkte Begeisterung und damit 5 Sterne!

Etwas abgenutzte Einrichtung und Räumlichkeiten, aber sauber und nicht ungemütlich. Gemischtes Publikum von jung bis alt.
Der Wirt Carmelo ist immer sofort zur Stelle, begrüßt und verabschiedet jeden Gast freundlich per Handschlag und weist einen Tisch zu. Die Bewirtung durch ihn und seine Tochter ist immer sehr freundlich. Lediglich bei Streß durch vollen Laden wirkt er etwas gequält. Die Karte bietet für jeden etwas. Wir kommen seit 13 Jahren wegen der hervorragenden Pizza und den knackigen Salaten 1−2x monatlich.

Altes Kellergewölbehaus im Künstlerviertel von Böblingen.Rustikale Einrichtung. Gemischtes Publikum. Freundlicher und netter Familienbetrieb, aufmerksamer Service. 2 x Pizza Frutti di Mare, 1x Pizza Calzone, appetitlich hergerichtet und hervorragend im Geschmack. Getränke (Weizenbier und Wein) wurden in kürzester Zeit serviert.
Insgesamt ein empfehlenswertes italienisches Lokal, welches von uns häufiger aufgesucht wurde.

Ciao Bella! This is one of my fav places while visiting the area. The Spaghetti aglio olio is perfecto! Yummy pasta in a very garlicy, spicy olive oil and butter sauce. And a ensalate verde, green salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing that is way too good, that and a local weitzen been and I’m too stuffed to be comfortable! Go by and check it out, they have a full menu including oven baked pizza’s, you won’t be sorry.

Tolles, rustikales und gemütliches Lokal. Ausgesprochen freundlicher und herzlicher Service. Ob Nudelgerichte, Pizza oder Nachtisch alles schmeckt hier vorzüglich. Tipp für Nachtschwärmer: Die Küche ist bis lange nach Mitternacht geöffnet.

Ich wollte schon lange einmal die Böblinger ‘Freßgasse’ ausprobieren und deshalb haben wir mit dieser Pizzeria angefangen. Wir haben erstmal
die Pizza und Salat, sowie eine Tomatensuppe probiert. Alles war sehr frisch und lecker. Ich habe etwas Brot zum Salat vermisst. Vielleicht war der Betrieb nicht gut drauf an diesem Tag, aber wir mussten fast eine Stunde auf die Pizza warten. Der Laden war aber nicht sehr voll. Das Kellergewölbe ist ganz nett eingerichtet. Die Preise waren in Ordnung. Nur unser Platz neben der Toilette ist nicht zu empfehlen, wegen der starken Geruchsbelästigung. Vielleicht bekommt der sonst bemühte Padrone ein anderes mal eine neue Chance.

Samstag Abend sind meine Begleitung und ich das erste Mal spontan im la Toscana gelandet und waren in jeder Hinsicht begeistert, so dass dieses Ristorante künftig zu unserem neuen fixen Anlaufpunkt wird!
Unsere Wahl fiel auf den Antipastiteller Prompt kam auch ein Körbchen mit ganz frischem, weichem Weißbrot und leckeren Oliven auf den Tisch und kurze Zeit später die köstlich zusammengestellten und sehr appetitlich angerichteten Antipasti. Diese Vorspeise war bereits ein absoluter Volltreffer!
Nach einem angenehmen Zeitabstand wurden dann die Hauptspeisen serviert, die ebenfalls geschmacklich zu überzeugen wussten. Die Portionen waren großzügig bemessen und in meiner auf den Punkt gegarten Pasta fanden sich ganz viele kleine frische Lachswürfel und Tomatenstückchen wieder.
Zum Abschluss bestellten wir uns noch zwei Espressi und die Rechnung und bekamen dazu einen Schnapps aufs Haus angeboten. Immer wieder eine nette Geste des Gastgebers.

Bevor ich nach Hamburg gezogen bin, war dies meine absolute Stamm-​Pizzeria. Waren hier des öfteren mit ein paar Freunden. Die Pizzen sind wirklich extrem lecker und die Preise vollkommen in Ordnung. Der Inhaber begrüßt noch perönlich an der Tür, zumindest wenn der Laden nicht gerade brechend voll ist.
