Weingalerie und Café NÖ!

Food and service were good. Nice ambience, although it seems crowded (better do reservations). Tucked in a quiet street in the otherwise really busy shopping/​business area in Mitte/​Friedrichstrasse. Good place for dinner dates.

Amazing date location!
The food is supposedly just tapas, but the portions are big enough to really fill you up! It’s daring and experimental enough to be interesting, but not to freak out a picky eater (me). Really good food, really well put together, wine is amazing, and not all that expensive.

We were visiting Berlin and found this gem amidst a pretty touristy area.
We got the 2 person shareable plate and –WOW-​… every single thing on it was awesome.
PS. Don’t eat the skin on the sausages! Peel it off.

We had a delightful time here. We were freezing and started off with the mulled wine before heading into two wine tastings. They were so willing to accommodate our desire to try regional wine that they brought us different wines to share and compare. We had two whites each, one rose’, and two reds. All were different and all were great. We shared the grilled Camembert, the pretzel with veal sausage, and wine plate. All were amazing. We finished off our long meal with the apples flambé and a sweet Geurtztrameiner. The staff were delightful and friendly and I honestly didn’t want to leave. A lovely afternoon in Berlin!

Loved their Bavarian sausage and escargot! Ordered 2 orders of the escargot. The sausage was very juicy and the flavor was on point. I will definitely go back for the sausage.

Delicious food! We got the pasta that was on special: it had two different types of pesto, both very very tasty! We also got a small rocket salad. The vegetables in the salad were very fresh. The place itself is very charming. It’s not in the tourist-​y area, and it was only a 10 minute walk from the Holocaust memorial. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend heading here instead of going to the more tourist-​y places next to the memorial.

My friend and I were visiting Berlin for a short time and I’m so glad we stumbled into this café. Of course, while in Germany, we had to have the bavarian veal sausages with pretzels and sweet mustard. The sausages by themselves (don’t eat the skin) were so good, the pretzel with mustard was delicious, and eating all three together was just heavenly. I never knew I would love German food as much as I did that day. (I might have just been really hungry.)
My friend also dropped half of her sausage on the floor, and our wonderful waiter brought her a new one, saying it was for «the flying bavarian.» Hilarious and so sweet. I highly recommend this place.

It’s located close to Friedrichstraße and is a great place to drink some wine, have lunch or just to have som french inspired tapas as a late night snack.

Eine Location die ich schon mehrmals besucht habe und noch nie enttäuscht wurde. Gute Weinauswahl und elsässische Küche, dazu eine witzige Diashow — eine tolle Mischung!

Ein kleines, gemütliches Restaurant/​Weinbar, indem ich auch nach zahlreichen Besuchen noch nie enttäuscht wurde. Die Karte ist gefühlt mit kleinen und größeren Speisen. Jede wird liebevoll präsentiert und passt hervorragend zu den angebotenen Weinen. Eine schöné Auswahl an Weinen macht die Entscheidung schwer — widerstehen kann man kaum etwas dazu zu essen — Etwas gehobelten Käse aus der Schweiz oder teilt man sich eine kalte Platte, Flammkuchen oder andere Kanapees?!
Wenn es etwas auf der Platte gibt, das man nicht mag, kann dies gewechselt werden und man bekommt eine andere leckere Kleinigkeit dafür.
Auch wenn es hier oftmals sehr voll ist — reservieren ist angeraten! — ist die Geräuschkulisse sehr angenehm. Das ist etwas, das ich sehr zu schätzen weiß. Die Atmosphäre mit dem Kerzenlicht ist wie geschaffen für romantische Abende zu Zweit!
Der Service war bisher jedes Mal außergewöhnlich gut! Aussergewöhnlich aufmerksam, freundlich und flexibel. Hier gibt es noch Mitarbeiter, die zufrieden und glücklich sind mit ihrem
Beruf.
Jederzeit bin ich hier gern. Im Sommer kann man draußen sitzen in dieser etwas verstecken Straße in der Mitte der Stadt.

Almost missed the place. Looks small from outside, but the dishes are really great! Great flavored food, great mixed drinks! Like the cozy space.

Wow! This has to be the most charming, authentically German restaurant in Berlin. The ambience resembles one of those small corner bistros in Montmartre with its own quirky, homespun charm. Populated by young, local cognoscenti Nö! offers a great wine list, including splits for the house selections. The menu, while not extensive, offers flammenküchen, salads, cheese boards, and daily soup specials. We shared the house antipasto for two and were overwhelmed by the delicately prepared crostini, interesting cheeses, and cured meats. More than ample, we tore through it thankful for having discovered this gem in Mitte and vowing to return soon Definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner. This is casual German dining at its best.

Great place to go to. I was visiting Berlin and because of the reviews to this place I decided to go. It did not dissapoint me. The food was great, the wine, service and ambience fantastic. I highly recommend it.

My friend and are visiting from New York City, and we ate at Café No tonight. The pumpkin soup, pasta with scampi and the crème brûlée were simply delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

Good, though not outstanding food. Service was impressively, outrageously, hilariously absent-​minded, even for Berlin standards.

We had a decent cheese and meat plate. Staff was fairly friendly under German standards. It was cute and wine was good.

Nice restaurant with tables outside.
The Votre Bavarian veal sausages were good and so were the 2 flammkuche we had, one sweet with apples and the other one standart with sour cream, oinons, cheese and bacon.
Weissbier (White beer) served only in half liter was good, served with an original glass.

Everything was just perfect for us, wonderful food, we had a selection of starters and the dish of the day, 0,5 liter of house white a juice, a weissbier sparkling weather and a dessert to share for two. It was € 85 with a nice tip. The service was some of the best I’ve had in my life and the atmosphere was also great! Really a top place!

Located just 7 minutes walk from Gendarmenmarkt, this brasserie is perfectly situated. I came with my dad when it was piping 95 degrees outside — we were plenty hungry and tired after a whole day of sightseeing.
We split the chef-​selected tapas option for two (28 euros), which was an impressive assortment of German/​Mediterranean dishes. The German flairs include the kitchen’s preparations of potatoes, selections of cheeses, and salad dressings. The balance of vegetables to protein to carbs was just right. I think the portion is good for the warm summer nights when you don’t want something heavy. If you come during the colder nights, however, I would suggest one other dish.
The Weingalerie is displayed in the front of the restaurant, with each wine having its own label. The ambiance is very warm and rustic, with ample dark wood furniture everywhere.

A small wine bar a little of the tourist track and very much worth looking for it. They offer a great list of wines (open and in bottles) and a small selection of German inspired dishes. Try some of the small starters especially the goat cheese crustini and the Original Flammkuchen are amazing. Wash it all down with some great wine and you have a perfect evening. Try to reserve in advance as it is quite small and fills up quickly.

What a great lunch! My husband and I had the business lunch special– and it WAS special. I had a delicious Tarte d’Alsace with goat cheese, pesto, tomato and sour cream. It was so filling I could not eat it all– and I so wanted to. My husband had the pasta with Chorizo– which was lovely. Our waitress was very helpful– and spoke lovely English, and they are very kind about food allergies– so go here! You will not be sorry. It’s also a lovely building– right across from the government building for women, children and seniors. It’s front window is covered in vines– and you can eat outside or inside.

Schönes Ambiente, gemütliche Stimmung. Essen rustikal aber extravagant und sehr geschmackvoll. Selbstverständlich tolle Weinauswahl — sogar was ausländische. Ich komme wieder.

After a steady diet of Currywurst and goulash, drowned with fab beir, I was so ready for No. It’s mean a casual no according to my concierge which means not fussy? To me, it was delicious my freshest pretzel and boiled sausages with sweet mustard. Hubs had fois gras.mmm. I had a Pimm’s Cup followed by a nice rose to accompany a spinach topped stuffed noodle dish mit salad mit balsamic dressing which was yummy. Hubs had carpaccio… lively ambience but smallish. A very warm and nice ambience, the service was great and friendly, and I would definitely go there again!
Backstory — I wanted a nice chic place to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, and booked a table here sight unseen. They were very accommodating and didn’t give a pissy face when some of our party didn’t eat anything, and the wine collection was excellent — we picked out something that wasn’t overly expensive and it went great with the pizza and birthday cake.

This is the best meal that I have had since arriving in Europe in January. My boyfriend and I ordered the farmer’s plate, Bavarian veal sausage, and the meal of the day, a spaghetti plate with chorizo, spinach, grated cheese, and pumpkin. I’m going to get straight to the point:
–Sausage was plump and tasty without being too dense or spongey. Texture was spot on
–Pretzel was buttery and delicious. The rock salt complemented the mustard perfectly, which was
–Sweet and spicy, I think there was a hint of applesauce in it
–Spaghetti plate was the best pasta I’ve ever had (including the ones I’ve tried in Italy). There is something so heavenly about the way chorizo pairs with sweet, mushy pumpkin
–The farmer’s plate had a great selection of salami, smoked prosciutto, olives, pickle onions, amazing herbed Brie, hard cheddar, dried sausage, sweet grapes, strawberries, and 2 squares of butter (which look deceptively like cheese, and so I took a bite of it and promptly spit it out. Just a warning)
–We also shared the red wine tasting, and the pours are very liberal and equates to about half a bottle. Tasty and smooth, lots of pinot noirs

Wir haben Abends nach dem Philharmonie Besuch noch was nettes gesucht und auch gefunden. Ein echt super Laden mit Charme und Flair. Die Straße ist sehr unscheinbar, eine Parallelstraße zur Friedrichstraße. Es kamen selbst um 22:30 Uhr noch Gäste. Unser Essen war sehr lecker und was man so drum herum gesehen hat sah auch sehr git aus. Wenn wir wieder mal in Berlin sind, gehen wir auf alle Fälle wieder hier her.

I was here for dinner with a friend, but this could easily be a great date spot. We were seated at a cute table bordering the wall with lots of candles. This place has lots of good vegetarian options – I had the pommes charlotte, which came with fresh cheese and mini potatoes and a generous salad portion. Not too pricey and a nice, intimate atmosphere.

Ich kenne das NÖ schon aus den 90er-​Jahren.
Das NÖ lokalisiert sich wirklich seltsam in dieser toten Straße — abseits der aufgeblasenen Friedrichstraße und dem überkandidelten Gendarmenmarkt + Umland.
Kaum sichtbar schmiegt sich das NÖ in die Fassade, verräterisch ist nur der Wein, der den Eingang umrankt.
Ein Freund und Dirigent brachte mir das NÖ damals näher. Seitdem verstehe ich auch die Zusammensetzung des Publikums im NÖ: Künstler und deren Angehörige bzw. Bewunderer aus den großen Häusern in der Nähe: Konzerthaus, Komische Oper etc. und Gäste dieser Häuser (Ich gehe immer nur abends ins NÖ.). Kurzum: Man sieht (zumindest abends) dem NÖ immer an, dass es sich hier nicht um eine Stammkneipe handelt.
Das NÖ ist quasi immer voll. Man sollte abends grundsätzlich einen Tisch reservieren lassen.
Wer einfach so vorbeikommt, wird aber auch nicht abgewiesen. Das Personal des NÖ hat eine interessante Tradition: Man wird zuerst einmal notdürftig am superwinzigen Katzentisch (vorn links) platziert (wenn der nicht auch schon voll ist) und darf Körperkontakt mit seiner Begleitung (Na, wenn das immer erwünscht ist… :-)) wegen des unglaublichen Platzmangels aufnehmen. Irgendwann später wird man dann auf einen besseren Platz hingewiesen — wenn der frei geworden ist.
Schön ist auch, dass man, gerade wenn man unsicher ist, immer im Raum an einen Platz geführt wird, also auch wenn es scheinbar fast voll ist. Man muss sich also nicht mit ungutem Gefühl durchs Gewühl schlagen und an diversen Tischen um Platz betteln. Klasse!
Sitzt man erstmal, hat man ratzfatz das Gefühl, angekommen zu sein. Das NÖ wirkt auf mich immer sehr familiär, wohnlich und gemütlich. Das dezente Publikum tut ein Übriges.
Die Speisen sind immer toll. Tradition haben die Platten. Ausserdem der Flammkuchen.
Im NÖ bekam ich erstmals (seitdem ich Lokale besuche) ordentlichen Wein zu trinken. Darum ist das für mich auch der einzige Ort, an dem ich Wein trinke. :-) Zudem bestelle ich sehr oft den Gewürztraminer. Wo bekomme ich den denn noch? … …
FAZIT:
Das NÖ: Fein, dezent, gehoben und trotzdem familiär, locker, persönlich.
Das Publikum ist «ausgesuchter» als woanders — das sieht man auch.
Als Gast wird man hier kompromisslos zuvorkommend behandelt und wenn man keinen Platz findet, dann findet das NÖ-​Personal einen (Nur wenn es knackend voll ist, können sie verständlicherweise auch nichts mehr machen.)
Essen und Trinken sind klasse und bald wird man seine eigene Tradition finden, sollte man öfter kommen. ICH bin seit den 90ern da…
Nur EINES ist wirklich gruselig: Die Homepage des NÖ! ist ein echter Unfall. Da hat wohl jemand die Zeit verschlafen.

Etwas abgelegen von der großen Friedrichstraße findet sich das Café NÖ! in einer eher ruhigeren Seitenstraße und sticht direkt durch den wilden Wein an der Fassade ins Auge. Einige Genißer saßen sogar jetzt im milden Oktober noch draußen an der Straße. Das liegt daran, dass das NÖ! es versteht ein unmittelbares Gefühl der Gemütlichkeit zu erzeugen, draußen, wie drinnen. Drinnen trifft die Beschreibung gemütliche bis urige Weinkneipe wohl noch am ehesten zu.
Das Reservieren gestaltet sich etwas schwierig, wenn man aber sieht, dass es nicht besonders groß ist, auch verständlich. Den Service beschreibt man am besten mit berlintypisch. Haben sich jetzt kein Bein ausgerissen, waren dafür aber auf Zack, haben gut beraten. Passt.
Ich hatte mir im Netz schon die Platte für zwei ausgeschaut und auch direkt bestellt. Dazu einen Wein auf Empfehlung, irgendwas aus Südafrika, definitiv herber, aber komplementär zur abwechslungsreichen Platte. Ja die Platte hatte es wahrlich in sich und mit einigen Überraschungen aufzuwarten gewusst. Sie schreiben noch auf der Karte bescheiden «von allem etwas», ich würde sogar soweit gehen und behaupten, dass es sogar noch etwas mehr war. Kurz: Die Platte war fantastisch. Um einige Highlights herauszupicken:
— Pflaumen im Speckmantel, Ziegenkäse in Räucherschinken, Balsamico Zwiebeln, geröstetes Brot, eine grobe Leberwurst die jeder Foie Gras das Fürchten lehrt (und ja ich hab schon Foie Gras gegessen, die dem Konto das Fürchten lehrt ;-)
— Klar wer mäkeln will, würde sagen, einen Schwaben haut die Maultasche nicht um und auch das dazu gereichte Weißbrot (nicht das auf der Platte selbst) könnte eine leicht höhere Güte aufweisen. Dem sei aber auch gesagt, dass er oder sie vlt. mal einen Blick auf die Karte werfen sollte, 25 EUR, in der Gegend und die überdurchschnittliche Qualität der meisten Zutaten, kann man getrost als Preis-​Leistungs-​Kracher bezeichnen.
Obwohl ich zwar schon ziemlich voll war, hab ich mich noch an die Crème Brûlée gewagt. Und auch wenn ich meine, dass nicht frisch flambiert wurde, eine extrem feine Crème, also wirklich extrem fein, dazu ein kleines Sorbet, dass der Crème in nichts nachstand. Beides sehr gut!
Ich war dann zwar etwas voll, aber ein kleiner Brandy hat geholfen plus, dass man das Gefühl hat, sich lauter feine Leckereien in den Bauch geschoben zu haben, Schon ein sehr gutes Gefühl ;-) Bin definitiv froh, diese kleine Perle in meinem Portfolio zu wissen…

There are not many review of restaurants even in this busy area of Berlin, so seeing a café with more than 100 reviews told us that we were in for a treat. It’s a little off the main road, and a quaint little place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or small plates before venturing back out. Bonus — they have games at the bar!
We were not disappointed! We arrived at an off-​hour, around 2pm, and easily found a table at which to sit. I was immediately impressed with the menu. There was a wide range of food, ranging from the highly traditional to the eclectic. It was clear that this is a place that pays attention to its ingredients and has come up with some truly creative stuff.
I went the traditional route, and ended up with a Bavarian veal sausage served with a warm pretzel and a specialty mustard. For someone who typically eats chicken and beef, I was taken aback to see boiled sausage that was pure white… but it was delicious! The warm, soft pretzel was the best I had in my short time in Berlin I also got the «vitamin infusion» drink made of fresh carrot, orange, and other juices (get the ginger with it!). My lunch companion had the apple cinnamon flambé, which they do of course light on fire as part of the presentation.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and I ended up buying a bottle of wine to take back as a gift. Their walls are lined with wines from all over the world, including many varietals that I’d never heard of.
Definitely a hidden gem that we were thrilled to find!

Tolles Restaurant. Besonders atmosphärisch ein Muss.

Toll hier! Passt alles, super leckere Käseplatte, tolle Bedienung, Preise OK. Nur Reservieren sollte man vorher…

Eine Kleinigkeit sollte es sein. Es wurde eine Gemüsecurrysuppe und verschiedene Bruschetta. Beides schmeckte gut. Die Garnele in der Suppe war gut gemeint, verschlechterte das Essen aber. Dazu einen guten Tee und ein frischen Saft, der zu warm war.
Die Einrichtung schwankt zwischen originell und schäbig. Der Service war nett.
Ein charmanter kleiner Laden mit ganz ordentlicher Küche.

Unglaublich gemütliches, kleines Restaurant mit extra Portion Charme. Essen kam schnell und war lecker und die Bedienung war freundlich.
Preislich gibts vor allem beim Mittagsangebot nun wirklich nichts auszusetzen.

Immer wieder wunderschön und sehr herzlicher Service! Ziegenkäse mit Honig überbacken und andere Kleinigkeiten, kleiner Geheimtip in der sonst sehr tristen Straße.

Gemütliches Weinlokal abseits der Touristenrouten
Eigentlich nicht weit von Gendarmenmarkt und Unter den Linden aber trotzdem etwas abseits gelegen und gleich von außen am grünen Weinlaub zu erkennen.
Draußen sitzt man heimelig in der Weinlaube, innen in einer sehr gemütlich ausgestatteten Weinkneipe.
Der mediterrane Flammkuchen ist gut belegt und schmeckt hervorragend. Auch der Nö!-Teller bietet allerlei Feines zum Wein. Nicht verpassen sollte man die Crème Brulee mit Tonkabohne, hübsch angerichtet mit Sorbet und gerösteten Mandeln.
Der Service ist flott und sehr freundlich und gibt kompetente Auskunft zur Weinkarte.
Eine absolute Empfehlung für einen gemütlichen Abend!

I was here earlier this week for lunch; I’ve always wanted to try this place, as whenever I ride the Bus 147 to Friedrichstrasse, I pass by this place, and the name just looked weird and interesting. Nö, what an interesting name for a restaurant. I found it witty, given that they’re a Swabian restaurant.
Anyway, I went in for lunch, and they had a Lunch Spezial. For 9 EUR, one can have any of their main dishes, as well as coffee or tea. I had the Maultaschen and a Milchkaffee. I was missing Maultaschen and it was the perfect cure for it.
There were a few outdoor seats, but I prefered the seats indoors as the road in front was high traffic. The menus were available in German and English; they gave me a copy of it in both languages. The staff were friendly and prompt in service. And the Swabian food was superb. Swabian food isn’t the most mouth-​watering cuisine in my opinion. It is more subtle and quiet, but this place does subtle and quiet in perfect style and temperament.
I’d definitely be back, specially for lunch.

Nach vielen Jahren war ich mal wieder hier. (Habe hier mal meinen ersten Tête de Moine erlebt und den ersten guten Flammkuchen. Schon ewig her.) Das Nö ist etwas abseits und einsam aber noch immer sehr gut besucht. Die Einrichtung ist nicht zu bequem und ein wenig eng. Dennoch lohnt sich ein Besuch spontan oder wenn man in etwas größerer Gesellschaft (soll heißen 4) ist besser mit Reservierung. Die Küche ist Elsässisch inspiriert: Flammkuchen, Salate, diverse Vorspeisen, Crepes, viel Käse und Wein. Trotz Enge irgendwie gemütlich. Die Musik ist genau richtig, die Einrichtung mittlerweile alt und benutzt. Spätestens beim ersten Getränk /​der ersten Speise fühlt man sich wohl, schaltet ab und genießt das Leben, in Gestalt erstklassig zubereiteter Speisen und leckeren Weins.

Da ich früher um die Ecke gearbeitet habe, war ich ab und an nach der Arbeit mit meinem Mann hier essen. Es liegt ein wenig im Niemandsland, trotzdem ist es vor allem Abends sehr voll, weswegen man reservieren sollte.
Ich hatte bisher den Flamkuchen, den Käse und die Maultaschen. Alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt, war frisch zubereitet und man wurde gut satt davon. Natürlich sollte man in so einem Weinladen auch einen guten Wein dazu trinken. Habe ich gemacht und nicht bereut. Einmal war ich auch zum Mittagstisch da. War auch gut und bezahlbar. Vom Ambiente her ist es etwas düster, aber dafür umso uriger. Man hat den Eindruck, der Chef steht noch hinter dem Tresen (tut er glaube ich auch wirklich), was dem ganzen eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre gibt. So beim Schreiben denke ich mir: Da muss ich wieder mal hin :-)

Das NÖ ist immer einen besuch wert. Egal ob Mittag (Mittagskarte) oder abends. Guter Wein und tolle Gerichte aus der französischen Küche. Flammkuchen sind empfehelenswert. Im sommer Rose mit Minze und Eis! Toll! Leider ist die Strasse davor und das Haus gegenüber nicht so schön, aber egal.

Ich liebe das Café Nö!
Es liegt sehr zentral in Berlins Mitte, gar nicht weit von der Friedrichstraße und Gendarmenmarkt, aber dennoch etwas versteckt in einer Nebenstraße.
Viel Platz gibt es nicht und ohne Reservierung habe ich es bisher noch nie geschafft, dort einen Platz zu bekommen.
Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, man fühlt sich einfach wohl. Sicher leistet das freundliche und gut gelaunte Personal auch seinen Beitrag daran.
Das Essen ist sehr gut. Ich mag die Flammkuchen oder auch einfach nur die gute Käseauswahl. Dazu passt dann auch ein guter Wein. Davon gibt es im Café Nö! reichlich.
Dann stimmt auch noch der Preis. Was will man mehr?

Hier vermutet man so einen Ort nicht. In mitten der Mitte gegenüber dem Familienministerium ist dieser Ort zu finden. Am markantesten ist die bewachsene Fassade. Sie zeigt an, hier ist etwas anders. Jetzt im Sommer sitzt man draußen. Stimmt das Wetter kommt eine super Atmosphäre auf. Drinnen gibt es zwei Räume die eine gewisse Ausstrahlung haben. Sie erinnern an eine Zeit, die es so nicht mehr gibt.
Aber nun zum Genuss. Die Auswahl des Weines ist sehr groß. Hier wird garantiert jeder etwas finden und auch mal seinen Geschmack erweitern können. Dazu passend gibt es eine gut abgestimmte Speisekarte.
Ich werde wieder kommen. Einziges Manko ist die Größe des Flammkuchens, aber vielleicht liegt es ja am Holzbrettchen auf dem die Speise serviert wird.

Bin Früher wenn ich zu Besuch in Berlin war immer hingegangen und nie enttäuscht worden.
Seit dem ich in Berlin wohne habe ich es aber nur einmal auf ein Glas Wein geschafft. Ich muss mal wieder hin gehen!
