Rooms are not rented to "unvaccinated". Unvaccinated people have no access to the uferstudios at all. Vaccine racism at its best and even more than convinced of it. Welcome to Germany! I know where I definitely won't go even after the pandemic.

My companion took me here for a contemporary dance performance. In what used to be a depot of the BVG, there are several dance studios. I love the fact that these old urban structures have regained a second life such as this one. While I am not reviewing the performance here(it was amazing!), the performance was definitely well-situated in the studio. The ticket counter and the actual studio is separated; so how it goes is that one find the ticket counter and the waiting area. In this area, one can hang out, buy a drink, chit chat, and so on. When the performance is about to begin, the staff will usher you to the actual building where the performance is held. I guess they could probably use a couple more signs, and some more lights, but at the same time, I liked it the way it is, with its mystique and noir. I am not a big fan of dance, but that’s mostly because I don’t know where to look for good performances. It seems though this is one location I need to be on the lookout for.

Along with the wonderful dance studio(which, by the way has a 250 year contract with the city of Berlin!), a vibrant visual art sector of the premisise lies across the street. Uferhallen is it’s name and the two Ufer complexes are inhabited by many of Berlin’s most talented artists. The types of art there range from dancing to painting, from promoting the growth of bacteria to simply trying to live in the sleepless pace. It is important to keep in mind that many visual artists live in there studios, so when visiting the grounds, pay particular attention to how you may effecting their daily rutine. Many of artists are very nice. I worked as an intern here for 4 months in Winter 2012. Every day I would eat at the local café/restaurant called Café Pförtner. There they had large lunches for a good price. The cooks are younger Italian men and they do a great job of bringing a little Italan taste to the artist community under the grey, soupy Berlin skies. The restaurant is open to the public. Explore the bus. Watch for exhibits and concerts every week. There are even some exhibits specially geared toward kids. Uferhallen and Uferstudios are sancuaries in the City. There one can enjoy peace, good company, food and art.

Lots of studios. Lots to see. HZT is here. ada is here. Tanzfabrik is here. I am here. Could use a table tennis table. Maybe some plants/trees for shade. Quite the nexus for dance in Berlin.
