Soups and More has a special place in my heart *insert sitcom awwws here*, and that’s why I’ve chosen to make this my 100th Unilocal review! When I first visited Berlin several years ago, I remember trying Phở for the very first time from here, and it was absolutely delicious and rich in flavor. It definitely hits the spot when you want to have a hot bowl of soup on a cold, Berlin winter evening. When I returned to Berlin in May of last year, my friend and I had a serendipitous moment when we stumbled upon this restaurant after shopping at a near by market. On that visit we decided to have lunch there and each ordered bowls of Duck Phở. Hm, Duck Phở? That was definitely new to us because we’ve only eaten beef and chicken Phos. I’m glad we made the choice to be a little«adventurous» and try the Duck Phở. Until this day, I swear, this bowl of soup has changed both our lives. Duck Phở: To say that it’s delicious, yummy, or appetizing is an understatement. The broth and the citric flavors awaken the taste buds. The slices of duck are thick, and you receive a generous amount. Mango Duck: Because my friend and I frequented this restaurant on a weekly basis, our kind waiter — possibly, also the owner — had our orders memorized, but we threw him off one day and chose to order the Mango Duck than our usual Phở. The mango curry isn’t too sweet and spicy, and it complements the roasted duck slices nicely. Of course, it all tastes good with a side of rice, because rice makes everything nice! Citrus Tea: Ok, I don’t remember what the exact name of this tea is, but it’s easy to spot on the menu. The tea has slices of either orange, lemon, or lime in it(pick a citrus!), as well as some other ingredients that are sure to perk you up a little with it’s refreshing citrus flavors. It’s also great when you’re feeling under the weather and need some extra Vitamin C in your system. It saddened both my friend and I to know that we wouldn’t be dining at our favorite restaurant in Berlin for quite some time. The ersatz«Duck Phos» and curries we’ve eaten in our city can’t compete with what we’ve had at Soups and More. And I can’t help but fantasize about this place whenever I eat other duck soups(Can you blame me? It’s THATGOOD). In a way, I’m glad Soups and More is located in Berlin, because it gives me another good reason to return to my favorite city.
