P103 Mischkonzern

Mir hat’s gut gefallen. Wir sind abends zum Essen eingekehrt:
Nettes Café/​Restaurant inklusive Kunstausstellung. Speisekarte führt hauptsächlich Vegetarisches bzw. Gerichte mit Fisch. Das Zubereitete war schmackhaft, wenngleich hungrige «Mäuler» bzw. Anhaenger defitiger Kost sicher nicht von einem Hauptgericht allein satt werden. Definitiv mal was anderes entlang der Potsdamer Strasse !

What a pleasant surprise! A much needed Island of Light in this area. And probably the best vegan risotto I ever had! It was so yummy that I had to finish it all the way although it was a pretty big portion and I was full. However it left me feeling nurtured, not stuffed, a good sign of quality food. All this was topped off with a great espresso, a very friendly and attentive waitress, charming arty atmosphere and a grand piano. A much deserved:

Ein schönes Café in einer sonst nicht so schönen Gegend. Hier gibt es lecker Kuchen und Tee. Die Speisekarte kann sich auch sehen lassen. Am Abend gibt es hier oft Live-​Musik. Ich nutze diesen Ort für Geschäftstermine. Sehr zu empfehlen also schaut mal vorbei wenn ihr in der Nähe seid.

This place is right on potsdamer str. and is an ok coffee place that turns into a restaurant/​bar later on.
We got there rather early, found a comfy couch to sit on and had a really nice waitress, unfortunately she finished her shift and was switched by a very arrogant and annoying one.
At first we had a soft drink but then I ordered wine and didn’t pronounce it just right, so she made an «I don’t understand you» face, and then when my German friend said it she was arrogantly correcting me «oh, you meant that».
I could live with that if the second time I tried to order she took an order from my friend and kept going while completely ignoring me when I wanted to have one more glass– thanks to you, I wouldn’t come here anytime soon!
The atmosphere and the design were really nice and also there was a really nice photo exhibition on the walls that really flattered the place.
And the open kitchen is just a really awesome idea!
It was pretty crowded so we felt a little uncomfortable and left at some point, but we had to ask twice for the bill and they were really slow getting it, even though it didn’t seem like everyone’s rushing to get service.
Disappointing

Dit war dann wohl nüscht: das Lokal leer bis auf 2 Tische. Wir warteten 10 Minuten bis sich jemand vom Personal blicken lies — ohne uns zu bedienen stand man gelangweilt in der Tür. Die überraschte Reaktion als wir gingen war eine kleine Genugtuung. Das nenn’ ich Servicewüste…

Platz! So viel luftigen, kunstvollen (wörtlich), bequemen, goldfühlenden Platz gibt es hier drin. Du hast das Gefühl, draus zu sein — aber draus war doch niemals so wunderschön. Goldfühlend ist das Wort, das ich geschaffen habe, um irgendwie das Gefühl bei P103 zu beweisen: von strahlenden golden Lampen beleuchtet, damit alles drin wird warm und hell und himmlisch. Das war natürlich nachts; wie hell und luftig das ist tagsüber, kann ich mir lediglich vorstellen! Diese wahnsinnig riiiiiesenen Vitrinen sind die größten, die ich je außerhalb dem Zoo oder Planetarium gesehen habe. Dadurch kann man bequem in seinem goldenen Rausch sitzen und angucken, People Watch, als ob er draus säße.
Die Kunst trägt zur Atmosphäre enorme bei. Enorme genau sind sie, doch auch sehr interessant, und passen absolut perfekt zu dem Café-​Galerie. Bunte und moderne Gemälden neben den verschiedenen antiken Möbeln aus Holz und rotem Samt ist eine extrem geglückte Kombination.
Zudem ist der Team ausgezeichnet. Na ja der Service ist gut, was mir aber tief beeindruckt hat, ist Engürs Lächeln. So ernst und großzügig die Gaze zeit, als er sich um alles (wirklich alles) kümmert. Dass du willkommen in P103 ist sofort klar — so wie die Vitrinen!

The first thing that crosses your mind when you get in here is: This Café does not belong to this area.
The interior, a mix of berlinisch, artistic and oriental would belong more to Kreuzberg, Neukölln or Friedrichshain. Areas known for a more adventurous artistic touch. But here on Potsdamer Str, where the sensation of the street is a bigger Burger King restaurant, P103 Mischkonzern is an eye catcher.
I tried the Mezze Buffet, the taste is authentic oriental. My personal favorites were the crunchy and warm turkish pizza, and the Humus.
The service is quick and friendly, and the prices fair.

Ich habe dort mit 35 meiner Studienfreunde das 30-​jährige Semestertreffen gefeiert. Es war wunderbar. Ungezwungen. Aufmerksamer Service. Kunstvolles Ambiente. Public Viewing für die Fussballfreunde. Leckere französische Tapas. Gut gestimmtes Piano. Und am Ende konnten wir auch noch lauthals unsere Lieder singen :)

Ein gemütliches, stilvolles Café auf der Potsdamer Strasse? Mit Flügel und belgischem Ober? Halleluja!
Die Potsdamer Strasse ist mir ein Quell an Bildern, Orten und Entdeckungen, aber am MIschkonzern P103 bin ich bislang vorbeigefahren.
Nun aber weiss ich, hier gibt es grosse Tische, tolle Menschen vor und hinter dem Tresen und zuweilen auch Klavierkonzerte. Immer dann nämlich, wenn Ausstellungen eröffnet werden, wie mir beim Gehen verraten wurde.
Das Team kann einiges: Mir mit humorvollem Service immer wieder ein Lächeln auf die Lippen zaubern, lecker Espresso kredenzen, Ruhe bewahren und nicht zuletzt mit einer Selbstverständlichkeit im gleichen Raum ein Klavierkonzert und Public Viewing veranstalten! Das hat übrigens tatsächlich erstaunlich gut funktioniert — ich sass dazwischen und habe gearbeitet, denn ja, WiFI gibt es hier auch. Zuverlässig.

This café is just down the street from where I live and I was excited to go there; unfortunately I had a HORRIBLE experience with both the coffee and the service and was shocked to read the positive reviews. I have never been treated so rudely in my life by a man there (one of the owners?) who glared at me strangely as I walked in the door, and after I politely asked to use the guest WiFi network when the café was basically empty (except for one girl working on a computer) told me that there was «no internet today» and told the waitress to SHUT OFF the internet. Did he mistake me for someone else? Did he not like my tennis shoes? Who knows. In any case, I wished I had never ordered a coffee because it came cold and tasted awful. Please do not patronize this business — I have lived in Berlin for 12 years and have never encountered such service. It was shocking.

A new great café on the Potsdamer Strasse. High ceilings, the interior is amazing with a mix of different tables and chairs. Theyeven have a sofa. It is also possible for artists to exhibit and they always have a vernissage when a new artists presents his work.
Big windows on the Potsdamer Strasse. I was there a couple of times during the afternoon for coffee and cake. I did not try the food yet but I should be very good and vegetarian. On Sundays they have a brunch buffet which is also vegetarian.
In this place I could sit for hours, with friends to have a good talk, but it is also good to go on your own. Just find yourself a table near the windows and just watch traffic and people go by. To get a good impression have a look on their website. There are nice photo´s of the interior. The staff is great.

If you take the time to come here often you’ll soon discover that P103 is like a small village: people and their stories, hobbies, passion will be soon of your knowledge.
And if you don’t have the time, it’s better you don’t stop by: the staff is fantastic and they really take their time to serve you and to talk to everyone… A very good thing, which makes this place more than a simple trendy café/​restaurant but a real place where things happens between people!
The food is very good: I love the menu (and by the way it’s veggie!), all the food is good quality and very well cooked and served!
You’ll probably also find your way there for a concert (they have a piano!), a lecture or an art exhibition!
Take your time, forget about the busy life out there, enter the P103 and get to know the 3 owners, their staff and the many customers from different ages, styles and origins!

Als wir das P103 besucht haben war der Laden voll. Kurzerhand haben die Mitarbeiter Tische und Stühle besorgt und zusammengestellt. Das war großartig und so stelle ich mir das vor, nach einer Lösung suchen und nicht wie quer gegenüber in der Vicoria Bar einfach die Tür vor der Nase zugeknallt bekommen.
Das P103 hat eine überschaubare Karte (vegetarisch und vegan). Das Essen hat lecker geschmeckt, der Rotwein ebenfalls. Das Ambiente ist schlicht und einfach, aber dennoch elegant und hat meinen Geschmack ebenfalls getroffen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Essen kam ruckzuck. Alles vollkommen unkompliziert. Preislich vollkommen in Ordnung.
Zusammenfassend kann ich das P103 empfehlen und werde bestimmt wiederkommen.

I am a fan of grandma-​chic. Hence, when the opportunity presented itself, I dragged my companion here for some coffee in the afternoon. I’ve already made a mental note of this place long ago (a Nigerian restaurant I frequent is a stone’s throw away), and so finally yesterday I was able to try it.
It is perhaps unlike any other café I have seen before. It is set in a half-​furnished open space, there is a bar, and there are artwork displayed on the walls. They are all for sale; the largest piece of art displayed yesterday can be bought for 5,200 EUR. If you don’t have that money, you can always just drink coffee while admiring them from the comfort of your retro grandma chair.
They have a grand piano as well. I almost played it, if not for stage fright.
I like this place, it’s very relaxed, and very chill. I saw some people using their laptops to work. That’s a good sign.
I am deducting a star for two little things: they don’t make it clear that they also serve food; their small refrigerator housing their cakes and tarts wasn’t very visible, so I thought they only served drinks. Also, there is no mirror in the restroom! Otherwise, this is a cool place, very typical for Berlin.

Sehr guter Wein und eine entspannende Stimmung. Fast heimelig. Bin gespannt, wie das Essen sein wird.
