Meh.
I keep trying mexican places here in hopes I can find something decent. I am not sure why the Germans seem to get Mexican food so horribly wrong. Deutsch-​mex is a true food abomination.
Points for nice (English speaking) staff and a clean environment. Allergy friendly.
Margarita-​mix margaritas, nothing special, clearly came out of a jug. I had a burrito bowl — I will say the redeeming grace was the mango hot sauce. This on its own was quite nice. But otherwise it was some rice, beans, and iceberg lettuce schlepped into a bowl. It felt like something which you might see someone make in home-​ec class. Sigh. The search continues.

I went here a couple of weeks ago for a takeout burrito. I’m always excited to try out new Mexican restaurants in Berlin in the hopes of finding one that comes somewhat close to Chipotle. Unfortunately, this place didn’t. The burrito was ok, but the barbacoa was way too salty. And if you add some fillings, it gets pretty expensive. The food is ok but don’t come here if you’re used to really great Mexican food.

Nun also der erste Ableger des Mexiko-​Imbiss’ aus dem Weinbergsweg. Das Neta II liegt damit schon fast in Schlagdistanz zum Maria Bonita und muss sich den Vergleich gefallen lassen — es hat keine Chance. Das liegt vor allem daran, dass es den Neta Leuten einfach nicht gelingt, warme, geschweige denn heiße Tacos zu servieren. Außerdem wird die Füllung zu geizig portioniert, so dass man für 6,50 € eher nur eine Vorspeise bekommt. Das ist schade, weil viele andere Dinge gut sind. Die Fladen werden frisch gemacht, das Barbacoa (Rind) ist würzig und zart geschmort und der Innenraum ist luftig-​hell-​geräumig. Noch etwas: Prinzipiell ist es wunderbar, auch einen Salat anzubieten. Die Umsetzung ist aber ein liebloser Schlag ins Gesicht. Kein eigenes Dressing, sondern nur die dickflüssigen Salsas. Keine Variation mit Gemüse und verschiedenen Blattsorten, sondern nur langweiliges Eisberggrün. Vertane Chance.
