Meyerbeer Coffee

I have stumbled upon this place while walking around town with two of my old friends, and since we have been walking for the most part of the day, we were more than happy to get some cold drinks.
As another reviewer said, it was just a regular coffee shop, offering the usual suspects. I have to say that I can only give 3 stars to this place. It wasn’t a discovery, it was just okay. Nothing makes this place stand out from the other coffee shops, and given that this is Berlin, there are plenty of competitors definitely.
If you want something cold, they have it. But I don’t think I would go out of my way to get coffee from here.

Ich habe keinen Schimmer, wo genau der Unterschied zwischen dem Meyerbeer und einem Starbucks oder einer beliebigen Filiale der zahlreichen, weitgehend identischen Coffeeshop-​Ketten liegt. Das typisch US-​amerikanische Konzept ist ja inzwischen nicht mehr wirklich was Neues, aber es ist ja trotzdem gut wenn man einen Vertreter dieser Zunft in der Nähe hat.
Und so bekommt man das Übliche zu den üblichen Preisen, von Muffins über Brownies bis hin zu Cafè Latte mit Sirup oder Smoothies. Der Service ist etwas besser und freundlicher als der Berliner Durchschnitt, was immer noch kein Grund zu übertriebener Freude sein sollte, und das Café wirkt sauber und ordentlich, ohne eine wirklich eigene Atmosphäre schaffen zu können.
Der Kaffee ist ziemlich gut aber nicht herausragend, ebenso wie die Brownies. Hier befriedigen vor allem die Angestellten internationaler Großkonzerne am Potsdamer Platz ihre Zucker– und Koffeinsucht. Praktisch aber nichts Besonderes.
