I came here for breakfast with my boyfriend and we both really enjoyed it! We liked the rustic decorations and comfortable seating. I am vegan, and I was really happy to see a variety of options for me. I decided on the zucchini walnut bread, which was delicious and moist, and the avocado toast, which had some fantastic garnishes. My boyfriend had the eggs benedict, and although one of the eggs was over cooked, he said it was amazing. I will definitely come here again if I’m in the area!

Great place, somehow in all my searches for decent gluten free food in this town I’ve only just discovered it. Very decent paninis(though a tiny bit small), coffee and hot chocolate that can come with almond milk in case your stomach is sensitive, and at least a couple of tasty gluten free baked goods on offer as well as egg breakfasts with quinoa and avocado and other goodies. Service was also friendly and not as slow as some places… and unlike most places that serve gluten– and lactose-free food in this town, they don’t try to force you to be vegan too! Ham, cheese and eggs are to be found!

Lovely ambience especially in the backroom. We ordered the flat top, chai latte, green plate, french breakfast, and lemon poppyseed loaf which were all equally fresh and delicious. Thankfully the adorable shorthaired associate spoke a little bit of english with us as the menu was in german. Which made up for her co worker who interrupted our conversation to let us know that all the food options are right behind them– in a manner that was prompting us not to ask any questions.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and have to say the quiche, zucchini spice bread and lemon poppy seed loaf I tried were all pretty disappointing. The quiche tasted fine but was somehow wet and slippery, the lemon poppy seed was alright in taste but the texture was that of a brick, and the zucchini spice bread was inedible. On top of everything it was really expensive.

Came here for breakfast. It had a really chill atmosphere. Service was friendly. Eggs Benedict dish was ok. Not the best I’ve had, but decent. Coffee was good. Prices are reasonable.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience here. I so wanted to because the place itself is gorgeous! Service was terrible… Offish & rude! The cinnamon bun I had was completely stale. And pricey. Eggs Benedict was below average with hard poached eggs. The only redeemer was their coffee which was fine. Based on everyone else’s positive reviews I am hoping we just caught them on a bad day.

Found this one recent visit to Berlin and it became my morning coffee ritual quickly. Friendly staff, excellent coffee, relaxed ambience with indoor and outdoor seating. Felt like home.

Awesome lattes, gluten free breads and cakes which were out of this world. Great environment to chill and people watch or just kick it in the back.

Sitting in Kaffeebar is like sitting in a tiny, tidy barn — swept clean and dry, with all the light at eye level and sunrise-colored. Absolutely excellent chai: so much flavor without being overwhelming, a nice, smooth spice. My companion had a gorgeous tea made with fresh mint leaves, which looked very San Francisco and made me smile. I was able to concentrate and read despite the sound(soft music, people cozied up on couches, chatting, working at tables). The barista was darling; drinks were brought to us at our squashy couch in the back of the café. Still not having shaken my unabashed Amercianinity, I melted at the mere sight of their peanut butter cookies(though € 2 seems a bit steep for any baked good, this coming from a three-and-a-half year resident of that money-suction funnel that is the Bay Area of California) and keep dreaming of the lovely morning I take my laptop and visit again for a long writing session and a hot chocolate.

The cakes and cookies of this place are very good, lots of them vegan and delicious. The staff is very nice and happy to help you. The place is simple and cool. I haven’t tried their quiches and sandwiches, but for sure they are good as their cakes! Good coffee by the way.

A café is about coffee and the coffee was pretty good. As for a Monday early afternoon the place was surprisingly crowded though. The internet was not available, maybe it was only that one day. The room in the back is very nice and much better for work than the front and the chairs squeezed closely one next to the other outside. But if you’re looking for a quality«to go» coffee it seems to be a good choice.

good iced kaffee, however I don’t recommend this coffee shop if you are intending to work on your laptop. The internet expires in one hour and you need different slips for every device you want to connect to wifi. They also unplugged my laptop when I was working without any warning and asked to move because apparently i could not use that plug! overall I did not feel welcome here as a working product designer. I think its great for a date or reading a book on a lazy afternoon.

I like everything about this place… except the coffee. You can tell it’s poor quality, and just by watching the baristas you can see that they aren’t as interested in the espresso as an art… they aren’t there for the good coffee. So should I be disappointed? Well I am, because for me, good coffee… like REALLY good coffee, is pretty much why I was put on this planet. Just a few doors down from where I live, I was über excited to discover this hipster joint — I, like every other person on this planet, love to go and park myself with my laptop for hours on end… … and so I still do. I just don’t go for the coffee. A little birdie at one of the famous cafes told me that he did some training for the baristas and said that they and the owner of Kaffeebar weren’t interested in the fine details of pulling good shots, and that the owner uses poor quality beans to cut corners. In a way, who can blame him… he’s making money off the food and I suppose all those non-coffee snobs, so good for him. He doesn’t seem to be hurting for business either, which is why I don’t mind writing this more critical review. Wouldn’t it just be great if they went all the way. but alas. So yes, the good things about it, which there are many: –love the ambiance; clean lines, gentle colours, modern… love the back room. No laptops on the patio, which is a nice policy. –have only tried the pesto panini, but A+ –the music? A++++++ –free wifi, and heck yes, I think they should re-charge you every hour for a new password. I’ve been in places where people stay hours and only buy a tea. Good on them. –the staff — all super super sweet. –location? best street in Berlin! –random: there’s a shower in the bathroom!(I don’t think we’re supposed to use it) –the lemonade? awesome(so this is what i drink instead of the coffee). I’m coming back next summer so who knows — hopefully they’ll read this and put themselves on the map, not just for a hipster laptop hangout, but perhaps also for their good coffee.

Der Kaffee macht dem Namen alle Ehre! Wirklich guter Kaffee…

Kaffeebar is what I imagine I would come up with if I opened my own coffeeshop. It’s minimal with the occasional splash of color, and there are windows that let a lot of light in but not so that it overwhelms. The front room is busy, as that’s where the plugs are, so people will sit and work there. The back is a bit less packed, with a couple of tables and wooden riser-esque seating, perfect for relaxing with a book or a friend. The menu boasts coffee and baked goods(including vegan cookies) and little bites like bagels or egg dishes. Aside from one or two dishes, not much there is vegan, though there are some vegetarian offerings. But I come for the coffee anyway. Also, the music is always really good. The only note is that WiFi is for an hour at a time and comes on slips, so you have to go up to request more… which means if you plan to camp out for more than two hours, be sure to bring enough money to buy food so that you aren’t just leeching the WiFi. All in all, it’s a great spot, and the coffee is not bad either. Additionally, it’s WiFi-free on the weekend.

I try not to be too liberal with my stars, but I truly believe Kaffeebar deserves it. I came for the first time just last week, and am now on my third visit. I’m pretty sure it’s become my «spot.» There’s virtually no fault I can find with this coffee shop. Perhaps that depending on when you arrive, you might have trouble finding a place to sit. But patience is a virtue, no? The chai latte is my favorite. It’s just… super tasty. And I could be making assumptions, but is that love I taste? The baristas are sweet as honey, so I think they put a secret ingredient into every drink and treat they make. LOVE. Ok. Ok. So I’m a big fan. But service will make or break a place for me, and I keep coming back mainly because the staff is so friendly and kind. Not to mention, the music they play is so good! It’s like they reached inside my mind and played all the songs they knew would feed my soul. Favorite spot: the back room. There are tons of cozy little nooks to relax alone, work, or meet a friend. If a date brought me here, I’d be like, «mmhmm. You like me.»

Kaffee schmeckt. Die Kuchen sind lecker. Service ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Nette Einrichtung.

Kaffeebar Jenseits des Kanals(or just ‘Kaffeebar’) takes a new spin on the gemütlichkeit of the Graefekiez. many of the cafés and bars in my neighborhood seem to focus on plush coziness –dark interiors, retro velvety second-hand sofas and armchairs, nooks to cuddle in when winter sets in– but Kaffeebar’s décor is simple, modern and bright. the spaces are open and uncluttered, the floors and unfinished tabletops are light, pure colors, the ceilings soar and the front windows pour in sunlight.(some great photos here: ) all whites and tans and gun-metal grays, the result is what feels somehow like a blank(maybe Scandinavian?) canvas for you to set your own mood. it makes for a great place to hunker in to read, work or chat with some sweet nibbles and caffeine. a simple wrap-around counter with tile mosaic greets you when you enter, with the usual armory of espresso drinks(they make a particularly decent and smoky americano) and an ever-changing mix of pastries(the chocolate zucchini bread is very nice and the lemon cake has a perfect zing with candied rind on top). grab a coffee and laze on the benches out front, set up to work at one of the front room’s small tables or retreat to the lovely and quiet back room, styled in broad levels like a small theater and piled with cozy cushions beneath a trio of old black industrial lamps. the music’s usually great, there’s wifi and the staff are(mostly) wonderful and attentive, particularly the owner.(i will admit thought that about half of the other staff i’ve encountered have come off a bit snooty… then again, i can’t imagine my accent in German is pleasing to anyone…) the neighborhood already digs Kaffeebar and i’ve never seen it empty but it still feels like a great, mellow secret — i hope it stays that way…
