Ivbergs Hotel

Wir haben dort bereits zwei Mal gewohnt und waren beide Male zufrieden.
Die Zimmer sind ordentlich und sehr sauber.
Das Frühstücksbüffet ist reichhaltig.
Wenn man ein Angebot mit Frühstück wählt bekommt man oft einen guten Preis.
Wer in der City-​West unterkommen will hat hier einen guten zentralen Ort.

Good value for the money spent, we stayed in a nice comfortable twin room for approx 150 eur for 4 nights. The hotel serves breakfast everyday however we did not try it as there are plenty of cosy breakfast options in the neighborhood. Good service comfortable beds my only complaint is that the sound from the street is a bit noisy and you have to pay 5 eur extra per day if you want wi-​fi on the room. Although you could use the wifi in the lobby for free an hour a day. The communications to and from the hotel are good. I can recommend this hotel.

Das Hotel ist in zentraler Lage direkt neben der Veranstaltungshalle «Urania». Der Wittenbergplatz ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen.
Diverse Buslinien halten vor und neben dem Hotel.
Das weibliche Personal, was ich gestern und heute kennenlernen durfte war hochgradig arrogant und kühl. Also ich war jedenfalls freundlich.
Das Frühstück hatte eine gute Auswahl. Für 17 Euro aber zu teuer. Bei meiner Buchung war es im Zimmerpreis mit drin.
Was mich richtig geärgert hat ist, das bei der Buchung über ein Internet Reiseanbieter angegeben war das W-​Lan im Zimmer gratis ist.
Bei der Ankunft wurde dann gesagt das es 4,50 Euro pro 24 Stunden kostet. Ok, habe ich mich mit abgefunden.
Am nächsten Tag habe ich dann auf die Hotelseite vom Ivberg geguckt. Auf der steht geschrieben das LAN im Zimmer gratis. Also mit Kabel. Was ja auch ok ist.
Also hole ich mir nachher ein Lan Kabel von der Rezeption (ist keines im Zimmer) und dann ist alles gut.
Warum man in einem 4 Sterne Hotel allerdings ein Bettlaken mit löchern bekommt ist mir schleierhaft. (siehe Foto).
Und die Meinung des Vorredners hier das man sehr sehr leicht nachts schwitzt wegen der Unterlage teile ich ebenso. Im Raum war es angenehm kühl, auch weil ich das Fenster auf hatte, und auf dem Bett unter der Decke konnte ich vor lauter schwitzen kaum schlafen. Kein Witz!
Und leider gibt es zu wenig freie Steckdosen im Raum. Alles Steckdosen sind belegt mit Lampen, TV, Minibar, Telefon, Wecker usw. Schade :-(

Wenn alles gut und ok ist in Eurem Haus, dann dürft Ihr gerne arrogant und kühl sein. Bei dem derzeitigen Standard ist es einfach nur lächerlich und unangebracht!

Schönes stylisches Hotel direkt am Ende vom Ku’damm. Die Bar ist gut, das Frühstück sehr reichhaltig mit großer Auswahl. Leider funktionierte dsa WLAN nicht im Zimmer, aber weil es nicht dringend war hab ich nicht weiter nachgefragt. Die Zimmer sind sehr ordentlich und sauber, es hat an nichts gefehlt.

Truth be told, I ended up at this somewhat generic hotel only because I couldn’t get myself booked at the Hotel Otto in Charlottenburg after coming back from Copenhagen. And honestly, that was OK since the livelier Schoneberg is probably my speed more than the quieter Charlottenburg. The hotel itself has a slightly dated feel that looks to appeal to budget family travelers since they appear to huddle a lot in the sterile lobby. At 114 Euros per night, my room was comfortable enough, just bland with an anachronistic photo of the Golden Gate Bridge above the headboard. Maybe they knew it would make me feel more at home (see photo). Probably not.
Hallway lights are activated by motion… sometimes. You may be stumbling in the dark before finding your room. My other complaint is that their WiFi only works in the lobby and not in the room, so basically, you’ll be hanging with those families in the lobby if you need to confirm flights or figure out where to eat in the neighborhood. Fortunately, Wittenbergplatz is only a couple of blocks away, so you can find plenty of dining options nearby or take the U-​Bahn to get elsewhere in the city. Service at the front desk is efficient but not particularly informative if you have detailed questions about the city. If you’re about location, location, location, consider this a viable option. If amenities are important, keep working your way down the TripAdvisor list for Berlin accommodations.
